Hmm, could be to specific countries, or FastTech have very recently changed policy. About a month ago they replied to me that they would not ship Li Ion to Sweden.
Used to be required to select DHL, this is what I get now:
Regular Air Mail - cannot ship batteries
USPS First-Class - cannot ship batteries EMS Speedpost Global Express - unavailable for this shipping address
Singapore Post - cannot ship batteries DHL Express - unavailable for this shipping address
China Post - cannot ship batteries
Swiss Post - cannot ship batteries
Sweden Post - cannot ship batteries
USA ePacket - cannot ship batteries
Canada ePacket - cannot ship batteries
UK ePacket - cannot ship batteries
Australia ePacket - cannot ship batteries Malaysia Post - unavailable for this shipping address
USPS First-Class via Hong Kong Post - cannot ship batteries
And I’m going to open a dispute tomorrow since my package without batteries is already over 30 days en route if it is en route. Their shipping has gone worse and worse. Asian post sucks, more and more. Used to be I get packages fast in 7-14 days. Now a year later it takes 21-who knows how many days.
Fasttech, sort your shitty shipping out. And have a cheap option to ship batteries. This is just ridiculous and small packages of batteries do not pose that much risk, not higher than other goods being shipped or battery packs in laptops, mobile phones, etc. it’s the same thing.
I don’t understand why WB, IOS, BG and CNQ are able to ship for free now and they are also from China/Hong Kong but Fasttech cannot? Can’t FT just use the same way of shipment?
There's a pair of LG 4.35v cells waiting at the post office today from Fasttech. They had previously used Swiss Post for a pair of King Kongs. It seems to be easier to send to France than many other European countries,or UK,US and Canada.Never had to pay customs either.I suppose Airbusses never had problems with burning batteries so they don't see a problem!
This whole “can’t ship lithium batteries” thing is a crock. Cell phones, electric razors, cameras, watches, electric cigarettes, etc., etc., etc. - all have lithium batteries in them. All are shipped everyplace on the planet without raising any eyebrows. But, ship a raw battery and everybody flips out like the world is ending.
Pretty sure. Otherwise they could have just locally couriered me the batteries without worrying about customs at all.
Heck, I could have just gone by their office for pickup if it was possible.
Also, their info page says pretty much the same thing:
Where is FastTech located?
Operated by Cloud Commerce Systems Limited located in Hong Kong, FastTech’s main warehouse is strategically situated in Guangdong, China, where the Pearl River Delta is located.
