Non Flashlight orders/received

Nice! How do you like it?

It’s a good device with pretty good reception and sensitivity (I use the included telescopic antenna with SMA connector, which is sufficient for my needs).

The housing is very high quality (made entirely of aluminum). The battery easily lasts 7 hours. The display is quite bright and easy to read, even outdoors, at least when the sky is overcast.

The UI is relatively slow, as is the touchscreen, although changing the frequency and volume is quick, making it easy to search through a frequency band quickly. You can also enter a frequency directly. The time displayed is inaccurate. Once you have understood and internalized how it works, it is quite intuitive and quick to use. There is a preset memory with 50 slots.

Seems to be in the $250 range.

180 $ on Aliexpress

the old one was falling apart.

Looks like a great deal!

This one kinda rides the line of whether it’s a flashlight or not. Gyorgy Kemenes did a small run of keychain “lights” that have a tritium tube in the end and are shaped like his Veszprim light. I ordered oil slick zirconium with a red tritium tube.

Great device, been using for a few years for soldering but also for other activities requiring good sight ability, like cutting nails for instance.

Yah. I can’t wait to try them out.

Freebie from Petrified Fish. I hope any of you who have ordered a PF knife got the same offer, all I had to do was send my order number.

New phone after ~5 years. It’s impressive how much better phone’s got in this time. Also, how much more expensive they got…

And here I am still using a 15buk (with included 1yr/1000min/1000txt airtime) flipphone… :brain:

'Though stay far far far away from Tracfone if you want a burner phone or “emergency” phone, etc. Don’t use it in 90 days, and they terminate your service, even if you’re prepaid for a full year!

Imagine prepaying for an apartment for 1yr because you might need it for working near a client or as a crashpad or whatever, and 3mos in, because you haven’t used it, the landlord just terminates your lease and rerents to someone else, and doesn’t even refund you the 9mos of leftover rent you already prepaid.

Yeah, that’s Tracfone.

My AT&T phone, I got almost 300bux of unused airtime and they just happily keep taking my bux and maintaining my account.

Still, I make sure to just burn off a day every month or three, to touch base with a bunch of people, just for the lulz and make sure they don’t pull a Tracfone.

That happened with a friend of mine and AT&T. He got a phone for the rare times he traveled and they not only cancelled his service but gave his number to someone else. But kept the money he’d paid in advance. They told him he wasn’t using the service and thought he didn’t want it anymore.
