I think its mercury?
“Do not leave batteries in devices when not in use.”
That is what they are missing.
Why do I say this?
Because…
For the 12th time over the past 5 years, I’ve had Duracell batteries suffer leakage. LEAKAGE. Just by sitting in the device not doing anything. Remotes, flashlights, games, you name it. I just discovered a double AA Maglite that I’d forgotten about for a few years, in physically excellent shape, but when I went to open it the cap was stuck. I discovered why… because of battery leakage. AGAIN!!
I’m absolutely DONE with Duracell. I’ve never seen a company with so many incidents of leakage with ONE PERSON. I don’t do anything unusual at all. All of my Energizer and other batteries under exact same usage have not leaked at all. NOT ONE. This is completely UNACCEPTABLE.
So, I went to Amazon reviews and noticed a number of people having made similar complaints. I WROTE TO DURACELL… and you know how they replied? “We’re sorry you ran into battery issues. This is the first we’ve heard of it. Please enjoy these coupons for your next purchase.” I mean… WTF?
trust me……… I have had dozens of energizers leak as well. all alkaline batteries leak. I only use them in disposable items or as a last resort.
“Alkaleaks”… LOL!
I actually rejuvenate these from time to time with my Maximal Power FC999 clone charger; can save a few ¢¢¢.
Cheers
I’m surprised… because I’ve never ever seen an Energizer battery leak, over the 20+ years I’ve used them. Anytime I’ve had a leaky battery, the name on the battery is clearly marked DURACELL…
Also, I thought maybe Duracell was having some manufacturing issues with a few batches, but I’ve had these leaks happen with batteries from 2002 all the way up to 2014. I haven’t purchased any more over the last few years, but stupidly left a few of them in some devices, figuring I’d just use ’em up. They decided to “bite me” on the way out. :rage:
