I sold mine on ebay for more than I paid. Can’t recall the brand, but it had a mechanical keyboard built into it. Someone had an identical one that died, and he wanted to replace it.
Ah the PDA.
I remember my old Palm Pilot. For the character recognition to work you had to sketch using a shorthand they called “Graffiti”.
After I had the PDA for awhile, I then went to write a note by hand. To my surprise, instead of coming out in English, my hand wrote it out in Graffiti.
just like raccoon city posted: never got into it.
friends did.
battery life lost data.
friends said a lot of bad words.
I have an original working Apple Newton somewhere. Complete with a 300 baud modem. Was handy back when I was doing IT service work. I could write down lists of parts I needed, and fax them over to the office through my brick cell phone. I remember my cell phone bill would be $1000 bucks a month. They didn’t have package deals like they have now. It was like 50cts a minute to talk on that thing.
Will post a picture of the Newton if I can find it. I know I didn’t throw it away, but I haven’t looked for it in years, and we’ve moved twice since then.
I had a Newton which I really loved, but I lost it somewhere in the several moves since then.
Also had a couple of Palms. I liked them, but really missed the larger screen of the Newton. Alas, they suffered the same fate as the Newton. My personal opinion is that Palm lost it when they chased after the phone market and basically didn’t satisfy either set of users.
Currently, I have a Samsung Galaxy J3 Orbit for a phone, and a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite for a tablet. I like both. I really like the Galaxy Tab, and the J3 Orbit meets my needs for a phone. I also have a Google Nexus 7 2013 which is a great tablet, but it needs a new battery that I am not in any real hurry to replace.
