Olight R50 Pro Seeker review with measurements (26650, XHP70)

Maukka, did you also try the XHP50 from kiriba-ru ? I bought one that I put in my R50 but find it quite green…

I have tried a couple XHP50s on the normal R50 seeker. CRI80 and CRI90 with different color temps, both of them were pretty bad.

They were from mouser:

Also one from kiriba-ru, which wasn’t good either. Forgot what that was…

edit: it was Xhp50a-0-45g-j20-d0-h-01

Fortunately, the 3 XHP70 that I put in my Olight X7R (also bought them from kiriba-ru) are good enough for CREE LEDs, and you confirmed it here
I wish Nichia would make big emmitters (5050 and bigger…)

That’s good news. Now I just have to find a nice emitter for the R50 Pro.

I was directed to this forum/thread after asking for advice on another forum.
Having read this review it suggests that the battery will take 1.5 years to drain. Is this with the battery stored in the flashlight and in lockout? Or is that out of the device?
Mine will drain to the point that it won’t operate at all in about 2 months. Olight (and other torch users) have suggested that I twist the cap before storing the torch away (this is what I now do), is this normal? I have a spare (and have tested both) and whichever is in the torch drains and the other will always be usable.
Cheers
Chris

Reading it one year after last message.
But I get the same issue with completelly depleting battery, when left in the trunk of the car. It was probbaly more then 3 months. So definetely unscrew the endcap. Otherwise charged back up with a total of 5200 mAh.
That is the original battery, still going strong after so many years, and getting over an hour of runtime, on high mode, in real world walking.
Easy and simple user interface. Nice ergonomics, even with gloves on. So a good grandpa light.

Why is this 2016 thread bumped lol

Olight changed a lot since then, huh?

I’m late to the party but recently had to replace my stock battery with an aftermarket because of availability. My R50 Seeker Pro works, but when I toggle through to turbo, I get the flashing power button light. I should also state that I tried to charge the aftermarkets in the light but they wouldn’t charge, I have charged them in the battery charger that came with the batteries.

I assume that my issue is because the batteries are not original equipment, these are 3.7V 5000mAh and not the 4500mAh that came with the light. Probably not good that the light has been discontinued.
