ONCE MORE FOR THIS NEW GUY: BEST KEYCHAIN LIGHT?

+1,

Super small, sufficient light for my EDC needs, poly carbonate body does not get scratched by keys. It’s perfect.
I also love the Manker LAD, but is currently a shelf queen.

Yeah, but an AA light for keychain? I hate my car fob/key because it feels too bulky in my pocket!

I have a few Tubes, Tips and the UC15.
It really depends on what you are comfortable with. The Tube is the easiest to carry on a keychain. Tip has more power than you are likely to ever need on a keychain. The UC15 is just plain fun but too large and heavy for the keychain. I use 2 10440s and the brightness competes with my 18650s. Plus the red and UV to play with. Pretty much usless for me but fun.
If you want to look at DQG, try the Tiny AAA.

I always come in these threads looking for something exciting that has a real lock out and I always leave disappointed.

That Ultratac appears to have a real electronic lockout but I question it’s reliability @ that price point.

Probably one of the most debated questions. It all depends.

Not much love for the UC15 but it has a real lockout.

the website doesnt mention any lockout, how does it work?

From off you hold button down until it blinks 3 times (about 5 sec). Revese to undo. Works great.

That would seem like an important feature to have listed on the website. I wonder why no mention of it?

Hey, that RovyVon light you linked there (in that other thread). That thing has everything! It’s tiny. It has built-in charging, a built-in 130mAh cell (that’s 40mAh more than the 10180 in my Hobi), a side-switch, and 550 lumens from a XP-G3! And I wonder if this is true:

If they mean a Lithium Polymer, that would explain the 550lm ability. :open_mouth:

I think its just xpg3 that gives it that mostly. Its low-high-med-strobe with no lockout. 2 dealbreakers for me

Well, the XP-G3 is definitely what’s putting out the light, but if the cell couldn’t keep up, you’d still never get 550lm out of it. Looking at the CREE PCT I’d say this thing is pushing at least 1.25 amps. That would be nearly 10C for that little cell. Think of the best 18650’s available. These are the top of the Li-Ion power density food chain. Most of them can’t sustain 10C output! However, Lithium Polymer can sustain much higher than 10C easily!

Yeah, I can see where that might bother some people. That is the only AA light I can comfortably carry loose in my pocket. Anything bigger is just too much and bothers the hell out of me.

My recommendation is manker e02

Olight AAA

I’ve been using a tube for a long time and I love it.

All interesting answers. From my limited experience- and even more limited knowledge, I tend to favor flashlights with built in Li Ion batteries. The TINI seems to be my top choice if I hadn’t mislaid it. Could it be too small?

At the moment, I using a TIP CRI to hold my keys. It is a trifle big.

I have had a Nitecore Tube clipped to my dogs collar and sometimes harness for more then two years now its taken a real beating and is going strong i can happily give it a ten out of ten .

I’ve been keeping an eye on the Ultratac at Amazon, but I guess the shipping prices are too high to get them!
But it sure seems a pretty nice flashlight !

Also, that Rovyvon, I’d get it, but again…shipping prices kill the deal. It is not sold in any european Amazon store, and I haven’t seen it anywhere else :person_facepalming:

If someone knows where to get it, please let me know!!
