Ordered ICR king kongs from Fast tech and Got INR batteries.

How do you know they're INR's instead of ICR's?

the tongue test

They say on them what they are, mine say:
[something in chinese] INR26650 4000mAh 3.7V

if you look on the cell. the model number is prefixed inr or icr, I dont have a cell with me to be more accurate but its pretty clear.

I wanted to give KK more credit. Like they mislabeled it and weren't dumb enough to send out something that's labeled as something else, and you would only know because you tested it. That's sad for KK and FT.

I just got two from FT, and both are clearly marked ICR26650. I had seen this thread earlier, and decided to take a chance. The cells I got are identical to the KingKong ICR26650s I got from IOS.

You may be aware that I just went through this! Also see post #107 for their BS Tech Support response. Support was trying to tell me that "ICR" and "INR" were just date batch codes. I argued and finally got them to agree to send me two that were stamped "ICR". Those should in fact be arriving today. I did tell them via support ticket that even if they had to send raised-tops I would accept that (I had ordered flat-tops). We'll see what I get. I did post on the flat-top ICR product page "discussion" that FastTech was sending out INR's instead of ICR.

Guys - INR's suck for single cell XM-L2 high amps, ICR's are much better - just run HKJ comparator and see... If you order ICR's and get INR's, I'd be pissed! The ICR cell is fantastic for it's low resistance.

I ordered 2 pairs of KK ICR26650 4000mAh a couple weeks ago and they arrived a few days ago and all 4 were ICR as they should be. They all tested exactly 3.76v and charged perfectly. I couldn't be happier.

I was a little nervous when I ordered them because I had heard from someone else here (I think it was Garry?) that he ordered the ICR and received a mix of ICR and INR. I figured they had straightened it all out after all mine were correct but perhaps I was merely lucky, or perhaps you guys were merely unlucky. Either way I'm sure you will all get it sorted out. Maybe you'll even get to keep the INR cells if they ship you ICR replacements. Would make the inconvenience worthwhile to me. ;)

Nope, they ask you to RMA them back and they cover shipping cost. Did you order flat-tops or raised-tops? I am guessing the flat-tops are coming INR and raised-tops are ICR.

That could well be the answer. I ordered button tops. I sure hope they get this crap straightened out for you guys. :frowning:

It seems their button tops are the ICR’s while their flat tops are INR’s.

Is there an echo in here? :)

-Garry

Flat tops.

Raised tops.

ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!! Just got my FastTech package with the replacement KK's and I am sure you can guess what I got - 2 INR's! The same flat-top version I previously had. I give up. I already got the ICR from CNQG, so I'm set for what I needed it for. I don't even know if I should respond to the FT ticket to tell them they are INR's again.

-Garry

Way to go FT!! Smile Sorry Garry.... This sucks in so many ways... Just another sign for them going down.

I hope you do decide to respond Garry. Don’t go down without a fight! :frowning:

+1

Seconded. What a shame. I blame it on e-cigs.

Ok, I brought up the issue again with FastTech support even pointing out their previous reply that they would make sure my replacements were marked ICR. I also uploaded a photo showing the cells, the package with tracking number, and the packing slip. I'm not shipping this set back to them if that's what they want.
