Ordered this Convoy UV lint but it doesn't to work like I expected

I got this UV light thinking it was going to be a nice UV black light type light that would pick up things other lights wouldn’t. It seems to have some UV ability but I once borrowed my friend’s 110volt black light and it blew this away in wavelength.

Does anyone know if there are better UV lights out there for the price?

The new S2+ UV is in a different class than the older S2 model:

I have the older S2, the Jaxman linked above and the new S2+.
I now have a UV pass filter on the S2+, but even without the filter it is impressive.
With the filter I do not see much difference between it and the Jaxman.

It looks like I bought the wrong one. That sucks.

Which UV filter should I get? I don’t know the size of my Convoy. Is it 20mm? How does the lens install?
Thanks.

The lens on the S2/S2+ is 20 mm (measures around 20.4 mm).

The UV filters linked above is slightly smaller, around 19.8 mm, but fits OK.

You need to unscrew the pill from the cell end of the head to get to the lens, using small circlip or need-nose pliers.

I have not tried the filters on the older S2, but I suspect there is not much to gain. Comparing the fluorescence of different objects it seems to also be a true 365 nm, but the output power is so much lower than the new S2+ or the Jaxman.

EDIT: Re. Gearbest link above….YMMV

You can also update just the led. You can try to find the Nichia 276A U365 for a good price, or you can ask for led4power's 365nm led (by PM), his led has even more 365nm output than the Nichia at 700mA, and fits a common XP-board, but it does need the UV-pass filter mentioned above, the Nichia gets away without it.

So the Convoy with the Nichia that has the Zoom feature has almost the “pure” 365nm equaling your Jaxman with the Filter ?
Or more simply -the unwanted Visible light is almost equal in these two lights with Nichia LED on the Convoy not needing a bandpass filter.

I like the idea of the Zoom out feature to demo some Glow effects and also to weaken the UV concentration in Flood mode ( reflected glare less etc).

I prefer “twist zooms” which go slightly beyond projecting the dye and also they stay at Zoom level where push/ pull tend to move as you hold them…
