Osram Olson HCRI emitter

Has any member had any experience w/ this emitter?

While it has a ‘low’ lumens rating it has really high CRI, as good if not better than the N219. Mouser has ’em for <$3 each. Osram data sheet rates it for 800 mA w/ a 2A max.

I’m thinking this emitter would make an excellent ‘mule’ emitter for close-up work.

Interesting. I believe OSLON SSL 80 can be sqeezed onto a cree star.

Features:
• Viewing angle at 50 % IV: 80°
• Color: 2700 K - 4000 K ( warm and neutral white ) •
• CRI: typ. 95
• Luminous Flux: typ. 78 lm @ 3000 K •
• Luminous efficacy: typ. 70 lm/W @ 3000 K

Forward voltage 2.75 min. 3.20 typ. 3.50 max.

Halo,

I looked at the Olson pad dimensions and I think you’re correct. While the Olson is smaller it looks like it could be reflowed onto an XPG noctigon MCPCB. The narrow emitter angle makes it more of a ‘thrower’, similar to the old XR-E Cree emitter. The Olson might make a nice choice for a small thrower such as the Convoy S2-3-4.

Djozz posted pictures of the IR olson on a xpg sinkpad 7135 based driver on LiFePo battery? (=also IR light build thread, with measurements on Oslon Black 850nm led, mod finished now) post 18.
