P60 Drop-Ins from FastTech.com - Picture Heavy.

I am actually about to buy more of the 8507 drop in. The reflector is has is great.

The base around the emitter is superior to the 4600 one. See that flat donut shape on the reflector to the right? It makes it much more picky it getting it focused and centered.

The 8507 reflector gives a nice defined circle hotspot.

It also gives a great spot with XP-G2. The 4600 looks like crap with XP-G2

Being new to the BLF I find reviews like this very helpful. Thanks

thank a lot for the picture Harleyquin, helps a lot
my xml drop in is somewhat smaller. so whenever tightening the head, the drop in will skew to one side. and also the reflectors lip diameter is smaller than the holder on the inside of the head.
gonna buy the specific xml one then…

Does anyone know how well the fasttech xp-e reflectors throw?

I read that the manafont reflector performed well with xp-e, but a bit expensive.

anyone know if these blanks will fit an actual surefire 6P without rattling?

I need reflector/host contact for thermal transfer, trying to build a direct drive noctigon XML2

Thanks!

Manufacturing tolerances say it is unlikely. How much experience do you have building p60 drop ins?

very little, i’ve just gone through several P60 lamps over the years, all the direct ship from china ones obviously don’t sit snugly in the body.
However I bought a nailbender SST90 P60 lamp and it fits tight enough in the surefire 6P that you can use thermal paste on the outside of the reflector. I later found out he custom orders reflectors/pills to his spec so the fit allows contact and thermal transfer.

Yeah with a regular p60 drop in you need to wrap them with aluminum foil/cut soda can/copper tape etc for thermal transfer.

If heat is an issue you might want to consider using a Qlite driver from IO. Direct drive will overheat in a few minutes.
