Enderman, I’m not a good public speaker. Please, no more comments to me.
Thank you.
So this black flat LED can be run at 4 or 5 amps when installed on the proper mcpcb for the GT? I am guessing that the lumen intensity will reach +/- 800 lumens?
Enderman:PS- with a tiny 1mm LED like the black flat, the max spot diameter at 1km distance is still going to be huge, almost 100m.
Maybe just take into consideration the needs/wants of others and how they may prefer to use their lights before criticizing. Can you tell me what mcpcb would work with the black flat? I haven’t seen this little LED beast before. Looks interesting!
The Black Flat, with a little care, can be reflowed reasonably well on a XP-board, but since (if the board is DTP, which you need if the Black Flat is to be driven to its max) the led-minus is connected to the central thermal pad you need to electricallly insulate the board to the housing, which is difficult.
Without insulation of the DTP-board, the Black Flat can only be used without a driver at all, you can tune the direct drive current by doing zero or 1 or 2 spring bypasses, or by the type of battery.
But very recently led4power has had a 20mm board made for Oslon leds that is non-DTP but supposedly have the same thermal abilities as a DTP board. That board could be perfect for the Black Flat (reflowed with + and - reversed btw), but he has not listed it on his website yet, and no one has tested its performance.

I have done a few reflows in the past, but not sure I would want to mess with any headaches with electrical insulation. Perhaps this 20mm board you mention would be the way to go. Just have to wait and see. Thanks for that info!

Would this one be fitting?
Airborne Package
That one is not bad. Cheap and you have a couple color color options. I like…
Had I not been laid off recently (after 36 yrs with same employer, due to re-structuring = getting rid of the old folk, welcome to The Netherlands) I would have ordered a second light, to customize with Oslon Black Flat, just to see how far it would go and to play with it during the night time……….like they say, men will always be boys :+1:
Cheers
Nico
Lay off sucks, after 36 years, nothings sacred anymore.
When you say “getting rid of the old folk”, I hope you didn’t off them……
Just ordered mine. Cannot wait for it. Amazing light from what I saw.
I think I will get the GyrFalcon All-88 at Gearbest.com.
I am ordering 2 and used promo code: GB17LED and got 12% off.
So that brings the price down to $51.04 per charger.
I purchased the GYRAFALCON ALL44 and am not that impressed.
If you work out how to charge Li-ion 3.7v 10180`s in that charger let me know please ?

I thought you saw the pictures I posted. It shows how the metal adapters screw in to fit the 10180 cells.
mickscott: JasonWW: mickscott:I have the 4 slot version, Gyrfalcon ALL-44.
It states in the instructions and on the box that it charges Li-ion 3.7v 10180`s.
I can not work out how to charge these small batteries in this charger.
There are some small metallic pieces that come with it but for the life of me I can not work out how to charge 10180`s .
They are still TOO SMALL .Can anybody help me with charging Li-ion 3.7v 10180`s.
Is there a charger for these small batteries ?Is the problem the length?
Some chargers come with little metal pieces that allow short cells to be squeezed tighter by the spring loaded slots.Yes, I see it has little threaded spacers to fit short cells.
Also, it does do 0.1 and 0.25 amp charging.
YES THE LENGTH is the problem.
They did provide some metallic small pieces but for the life of me I can not work out how they fit in.
I can not get them to screw in to the ` Threaded spacers` you mention.
I have tried some small powerful magnets I purchased on line but they don’t seem to work.I can not believe there is NO CHARGER specific for the 10180`s ?
Tried asking BG or GB cant remember which one I purchased from but after sale service from either can be a bit of a hit or miss affair.Yes the GYRAFALCON ALL-44 does do - 0.1 - 0.25 - 0.5 - 1.0 amp charging .
Does not seem to have 0v waking / charging of old batteriesTo be honest have not been impressed with any charger for a long time and being in Australia means often we can only get US or EU electrical plug like I got with my 2 x Gyrafalcon.
I still have 1 in the box.
If you like I can take some pictures and post them so you can see the extra metal pieces and anything else you might be interested in.
What do people see as the ` BEST ` Li-ion charger on the market TODAY ?Thank you JasonWW
There is no best charger. Juse what’s best for you. Some have features and abilities others don’t. Do you need to charge Lipo cells or 4.35v liion? What about nicd? 32650 size? 10180 cell size? See, too many variables. You just need to match a charger to your needs.
I searched and searched and finally found a picture of the Gyrfalcon slot adapters.
Do your adapters look the same?
I personally only charge 4.2v lithium cells. 16340 to 26650. I’ve got a pair of Xtar SV2 Rocket chargers for my 26650 which charge at 2A each. Then an Xtar VC4 for my Misc smaller cells. Soon I’ll have the Miboxer C4-12. That will let me charge my 4 18650 cells for the GT at 1.5A each. It’s super flexible with 10 different charge rates up to 3A x 4. I will be able to charge all the cells I use regularly at their best charge rates.
THANK YOU very much for going to the trouble.
YES it is supplied with 2 x the round screws like in your picture but also 2 x small flat end up turned metal pieces.
I did try to install the round screws like you have shown but was unable too… I will have another look.
will take some pictures and show you.
I charge only Li-ion 3.7v batteries.
But have them all from 26650 down to 10180.
Waiting on the Xtar Dragon Charger. I hope its worth the price.
THANK YOU AGAIN JasonWW.
gregor:Will this flashlight include strap:

or do we have to buy it separately?
Thank you
Strap not included
If strap is not included, can you please tell me where can I buy such straps?
What do you recommend?
Thank you

mickscott… I was thinking about getting a GYRAFALCON ALL44, but I read what you said about it. What did you not like.
Thank you for the info……
It’s Monday afternoon in China, hopefully we will start getting shipping updates soon… (fingers crossed) :sunglasses:
They said it would be sometime this week, not necessarily Today. I think today the goal is to get the lights packed up in their boxes, manuals distributed and all that kind of finishing touches. Then they will start packing for shipping once that is done.

Thanks for posting this each page, I have noticed less repeat questions since you start this. It is too bad we can’t edit the OP with all this info.
Next time around we will use a Team account for the OP so that this is not an issue.
