I am number 98 on the paid list and informed through this thread it will probably be late Jan/Feb before they even get round to sending it, yet there are people that are on the over 555 list that have received theirs ???

Teacher, the Q8 is using XP-L V6 3D emitters which should fall in the 4750 range approximately. Pretty sure this GT has a 4000K XHP-35. So it’s warmer, more orange than the Q8’s slightly rosy hue. Which is exactly why I don’t care for it. I shoot weddings, am constantly light balancing to get the expensive white dress to show as white, so orange light is an eyesore to me as a photographer. Just one of those things.

Edit: Your mileage may vary. I know it’s been said the warmer white is more visible at distance, but I can’t see a mile and a quarter away, so I like how bright a good thrower is at 600 yds. For me, pure white or even a bit of a blue-white works well for this. Not too much blue, but a little is tolerable. Like a 2B, maybe a 2D if it can be found. Or a 3A if not.

I’ll just have to wait and see it myself to be sure I guess. But if it is to much warmer ‘to my eye’ than the Q8 I’ll be ‘cooling’ mine off too……

I too prefer white, ranging to a slight cool side of white.

For those wanting the lights with cells to ship, mine shipped. Now unless they screwed up and didn’t send the cells my light with cells will be here on Tuesday. Mine shipped toward the end of this shipping cycle. I’ll know more on Tuesday. Last I knew it was sitting in Cincinnati (I haven’t tracked it since it left there). But I did get a call today telling me that it needed to be signed for, yada, yada.

I just tracked it again. It left Boston at 9:37 headed north for delivery. I assume the DHL truck doesn’t come out to me every day otherwise I could have it tomorrow. It will probably be 30 miles away sometime tonight and that’s if they drive slowly.

So the other 140 DHL/cells are MIA. :cry:

Got a little mini quad-copter from amazon to help pass the time while sitting at my desk. :partying_face:
I’ll browse amazon see what other nick knacks I can obsess over.

They could ship yours to you tomorrow and you’d still get it before I get mine. We still don’t know if cells were shipped with mine. I only know that I ordered them.

no way! thats awesome that you received! I have ordered one from first batch and second batch and not even till now have I heard from Neal and never got his email. No DHL shipping email either

Sadly all the lights have shipped to the US so far. I think because most of the rest of the world picked registered mail and there were not enough orders to fill a DHL pallet to each country.

But what about the emails that everyone got from Neal, I never got any for both lights.
Also I’m not even on the excel list for the second batch, but did pay on the 13th Dec.

The 13th was after the list was sent to us.

I ordered the Samsung 35e batteries with mine. I need to find a charger for them. I am not sure what to do for a charger since the batteries are unprotected. Does it matter? Or what do I need to look for in a charger for safety and piece of mind?

No, you were 280th to pay, in the US and had light only. People up to the 550th, usa and no cells also got theirs shipped.

The charges mentioned in the post you made are the same chargers I’d recommend.

8 Bay charger: GyrFalcon All-88.

4 bay chargers: Lii-500 or MiBoxer C4-12

Protected cells or not, They will charge fine.

If I went to China and was visiting the Lumintop factory, bought something that I wanted my Dad to have right away, I probably could not get it here faster if I paid for someone’s plane ticket and rental car to fly over here and deliver it ASAP. DHL really rocked on these! I’ve seen it before, and it amazes me how consistently they do this. Across the world in 3 days. Remarkable.

They shipped last Sat and arrived this Friday.

As has been said before many times. Have patience. You should probably recieve the light at that time, not for it to be sent. If it hasn’t shipped already, it probably will within a week.
