I hope this question hasn’t been asked previous to this. I haven’t read all of the posts but I don’t remember seeing anything like it.
My brother is receiving one of the GTs I have signed up for. He just asked me what others are going to tell their wife when the question, “What on earth do you need that for!?”, comes up.
I have already told my wife that I have no foreseen use for it, but it was too unique to pass up. So what’s your “excuse”?
I put my name down for the GT Giga thrower on the second list as it was too late for the 555 list. Can anyone give me a link to the page where my name would be so i can check i have my details right as its been a while & i can't remember if i put my email there or not.
My excuse is that I left the GT-team when the big flashlight shape was chosen over the lightweight box shape (the project became less interesting for me), and then I still wanted one. That is an excuse, right? :person_facepalming:
“Flasholism is the most severe form of flashlight use and involves the inability to manage your flashlight use habits. It is also commonly referred to as flashlight use disorder. Flashlight use disorder is organized into three categories: mild, moderate and severe. Each category has various symptoms and can cause harmful side effects. If left untreated, any type of flashlight use can spiral out of control.”
My girlfriend still thinks that each of my lights has some sort of purpose. “Oh, I needed that for biking”, “Oh, that one is for taking to work”, “oh, that one is for working on the car”.
So for the GT I tried going with “Oh, this one can project light for almost 2km!” but she countered with “When do you ever go outside?”. So I settled on “I’m a collector and I collect them and lets leave it at that”. She seemed to accept it.
It would be the best if you ship the different parts of the alternative shipping Flashlights with some days delay, to not combine them to one parcel at customs office.
Ok I definitely have excuse, first time when I bought 10 flashlights for 200$ she thought I am a lunatic… Then I paired them with good original cells and chargers and sold them with 200$ profit.
After that she realized that I am not so crazy, and can control my Flasholism.
So I simply created my own budget for irresistible projects like GT, and passion can go on!
