My brother and I took ours out tonight to a local park to let them stretch their legs. I had measured mine earlier in my house at 5 meters and got 922k. At the park we measured both of air GT’s as well as my brothers TK61vn and my MK35 as well because we knew where they should be. We measured all 4 lights at 5M, 20M & 50M. The lights seemed to reach their peek at 20M and stayed real close at 50M. They were all way down at 5M. They tested as follows: 20M
GT#1. 1,128,000cd
Gt#2. 1,124,000cd
TK61vn. 608,000cd
Mk35. 460,000cd
Keep in mind this is in good old Texas 80% humidity. These lights would be 1,200,000cd throwers no problem in respectable humidity levels. We have tested the TK61vn at mid 630k range and the the MK35 at 520K. The GT’s are sweet!
Does anyone know if the foam used in the packaging could damage the lens on the GT? I’m planning on storing it in the OG packaging for the time being while my sleeve comes in from amazon.
Just wondering if the white foam coming into contact directly onto the lens has any negative effects (like scratches).
I’m glad several people have it at 1.1mcd+. I didn’t have the time/energy to get a long range measurement, but even at close range it’s still reading substantially higher than any of my other lights.
I was able to use the GT to see a distant tree out in the field that I’ve never seen at night before. That was a very cool realization when it hit me.
Got a little mini quad-copter from amazon to help pass the time while sitting at my desk.
I’ll browse amazon see what other nick knacks I can obsess over.
