Contigo and Blinker I am glad you enjoyed my anecdote. My grandmother has been a widow since my grandfather died 14 years ago. I know she doesn’t really do well when something interrupts her electricity flow and she panics while running around her dark house looking for candles, then her search resumes except this time its for matches. I have spent quite a bit of time educating her on how to operate led flashlights. Since I joined the blf i have been putting flashlights with a simple ui in each of her rooms, and she keeps one in her purse and the trunk of her car. I know it is overkill but I simply can’t stand the thought of her being scared while sitting in a dark house. When I showed her what the GT looks like she was in awe of it. By the way, she has mastered the art of tail standing the light in order to light the whole room with the ceiling bounce. Cheers!
Hello Giancarlo, You are number [1192 & 1555] on the list, so in the 2 / 3 group, wait a few weeks, then you will get a message with the link to buy the GT.

Please stop posting pictured of your raggedy box. Do you think Lumintop wet and then crushed your box before sending it to you? Pretty sure the shipping company is to blame. You stated your light is in great shape so all is good and you have a great light at a great price. Your complaining is helping nothing.

1. sometimes I hear the glass “click” or “pop”, almost like it’s cracking/bursting but then again it’s not. Very weird and not only when the light is on, but also when I do some soft “swinging” with it when off. Very scary!
2. the flat sides on the battery tube are completely off-line/off-center with the switch/button (perhaps this is meant to be or not, but esthetically it doesn’t look good and could be improved for the final product).
3. the black attachment-ring-hole on the head is also completely off-line/off-center with the switch/button (perhaps this is meant to be or not, but esthetically it doesn’t look good and could be improved for the final product).
4. the silver attachment-ring in the tripod-mount-hole is not horizontal in line with the head (perhaps this is meant to be or not, but esthetically it doesn’t look good and could be improved for the final product).
5. one of the small LED on the switch is shining brighter then the other (perhaps this is meant to be or not, but esthetically it doesn’t look good and could be improved for the final product).
All these alignment wishes are difficult to fulfill, it has to do with how threads work. Even if you design and manufacture and tighten it so precisely with the exact amount of force that all alignments are there, over time everything will shift again by wear of the threads and then your OCD starts striking up again. It is not a manufacturing fault, getting these alignments right requires a complete different way of joining two pieces (like bolting them together). Note that many high end flashlights have this exact alignment stuff going on.
Those cracking noises are related to thermal expansion/contraction in the same way you hear heaters or car engines ‘click’. I dont think there is anything to worry about.
