That makes 4 of us. Was in first order group, light with batteries, registered shipping, U.S. The decision to not use DHL was a flopper. Not worried but kind of a bummer that we are last.

A question, i noticed some receive their GTs as separate packages, while some are in a single large box with foam around the parts. Just random different packaging for the build lots?

It’s DHL and registered mail shipping. The 2 shipping methods we had to choose ever since December. It’s been talked about over and over.
I did not ask about the shipping type,
- i asked why some people received their lights in “separate” boxes (some at separate times) (IE: head in one box, and the body in another separate box) but some came in a single larger box together. (as mine did)

2 boxes = Registered
1 box = DHL

Correct, there are some expectations depending on the location and the service providers rules. Some allow a single large package, most do not.
No, no. The shipping type is the answer to your question.
If you chose DHL shipping you get a single box with a default declared value of $25.
If you choose registered mail shipping you get two boxes with each box having a default $14.95 declared value.
Within the group of people who asked for Registered Mail, there were a few countries or people who got the single DHL box due to that location not having shipping restrictions on package size and weight.
There we’re also a few instances where the shipper was experimenting to see what packages were able to be shipped through customs without getting any problems. Like TA says below.
