PK Paul Kim LED sourcing help.

Hi does anyone know the exact 6500 led and tint bin PK uses in his lights please?, and where to source them from too?thanks!.
It states it’s a Cree XPG R5 6500 white light!.
I need this same led in another light.
I have also messaged PK Paul!.
Thanks.

My guess would be straight from Cree. I dug up some links to suppliers for the higher K high-CRI XP-G3s for someone here a while back. Can’t remember what thread or if they were 6500K or 6000K, I’ll look for the post…

ETA: They were 5700K, here’s the link:https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/30739/63

What were you looking for exactly, 70, 80 or 90 CRI? I’ll see if I can find you a source…

Hey mike thanks well it’s the same ones as PK Paul uses In his lights.
They do look more like 6200 than 6500 though.
I did ask PK about his source and he didn’t say.

You do know that the “XPG R5 6500” is a fairly outdated emitter? Is the emitter you are trying to match special in any way?

6500k is on the cool-tint side of the spectrum, which is usually non-descript, non-HighCRI.

FastTech has a number of the old First-Gen XP-G emitters in the XP-G R5 brightness bin, and in the 6500k range:

…but they also have brighter options available in updated XP-G2 emitters, with similar tint bins:

I’ll second the above post.

I had some more time to look and came back to post essentially the same thing. When you first posted I thought you simply abbreviated XPG for XP-G2 or XP-G3, as we do here sometimes. I thought you were looking for one of the current emitters, but when I dug around on Paul’s website I realized it was probably the old first-generation XPG, because some of his other lights are still using the older XML’s.

They’re probably the same brightness and Kelvin bin as well as generation as keltex posted, tint bin I wouldnt have a guess.
