Please help me find the right flashlight

can anybody tell give me more about flashlight, and I have some questions, why some people say "one emitter+huge reflector=good range almost like HID. and what is different of HID,LED. Which one do you like best?

I have an HID flashlight that I picked up in 2008. At that time, it was about twenty times brighter than the latest LED flashlights. I’m not sure how much technology has advanced in the HID area, but here’s my opinion:

Advantages of HID’s
Brighter
Greater chromatic range (albeit in the 7000K+ band width)

Advantages of LED’s
Much less expensive
Operate much cooler
More energy efficient = less consumption of batteries = smaller form factor = lighter weight
Better tint
Greater variety to fit your needs

Back in 2008, if you wanted a really bright flashlight, then HID’s were really your only choice.

Today, I can’t think of any reason for the average consumer to purchase an HID flashlight given the present choices available in LED flashlights.

On the other hand, maybe you’re not the average consumer …

Little point in a non-LED flashlight anymore, just a few ‘specialty’ uses where something else can still be a better choice. For a long-distance ‘Thrower’ the large reflector diameter works better than a small one as it captures and redirects more light forward, but a ‘Floody’ doesn’t need the extra size to do well. Single emitter lights are cheaper and easier to manufacture well than multi LED’s and they often use less power so the cell(s) last longer in use. And many LED lights can use LiIon cells which aids performance greatly.

Well, I received the two flashlights that I mentioned above. These things are very small ( no problem to carry in your pocket ) very powerful and very well made. I am very happy with both and would recommend them to anyone who wants a quality flashlight at a great price !

Thank you all for your help.

yup!I know that, but it is said that if you want to take photography ,HIDlight is a good choice, because like some cave dive, useing ledfflashlight will reflect light, what do you thing about that?
