Those of you that use the Pomona SOIC clip, what did you use for leads, and how did you attach them?
I've done it two ways:
- 1. Silicone wire soldered directly to the pins, with heat shrink tubing. This is nice because you can get a long and flexible run of wire.
- 2. Dupont-style wire jumpers. These are perhaps the easiest, because you don't have to solder anything on either side.
Here's a good post for a set up with that clip.
I really like that ribbon cable hoop posted, but I want longer cables than 20cm
Those are the Dupont-style connectors I was talking about. You could do a hybrid and splice longer wires onto those.
Any idea where I could get just the connectors? It might be cheapest to just scavenge them from that cable
edit: nevermind. I didn’t realize searching “dupont connector” on ebay would be enough.
I build a cable with 4 pin single row housings, and a 10 din dual row housing, and crimp on sockets. I went with about an 8” cable because I have one of the cheap clips that has about 20” leads that I was getting errors with. I bought a USB extension instead of using long leads on the clip.
