Thanks for the updated info on the research, glad to see it’s progressing. I still think it would be very cool to have a flashlight with 40 HZ as an option.
All the the recent discoveries showing different (Hertz) rhythmic sequential neural/dentritic firing of the brain having specific effects is really interesting.
This kind of dovetails with newer findings of the slow wave (Delta .5-4HZ) deep sleep allowing a flush of cerebospinal fluid removing neurotoxins from the brain. Also possibly helping slow Alzheimer’s.
I wonder if you were externally exposed to a .5-4 HZ frequency you would be able to enhance the length and benefit of deep sleep as well. I don’t think light based stimulus would work well with sleep, more likely auditory. The frequency sure reminds me of something similar to ocean waves, I wonder if it’s a coincidence. Maybe “ontology recapitulates phylogeny”.
Looks like the sound machine next to the bed is going to switch from “light rain” to “ocean surf” tonight.
