A couple of nights ago, we had a scheduled power outage because the electric company was replacing a power pole.
The power was out about eight hours, but not continuously.
I used my new CPAP machine with my UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply).
My new CPAP machine must be more energy efficient than my old one because the new CPAP machine was able to run all night long on the UPS! 
(My old CPAP machine could only last maybe 2-3 hours with my UPS.)
