So i am done with DX. In the next months i will refrain from ordering from DX or any other similar dealers (except for DD where i've got some credits left hehe; i will use them up as soon as possible though). Yes, the waiting time s*cks, and that's why it is best to place several orders (DX+DD+MF) in parallel, and not in series. Especially when it's sales season time (Xmas, ..). Sometimes i am thinking that placing orders and receiving stuff in the mail is part of the fun, the new flashlight hobby. it kinda is. But lemme tell you, i feel so glad and relieved that i am done with DX. i mean there is nothing wrong with them. they are no scam. The point is i am feeling much better now that IT IS OVER and my mind frees up and i can move on (mentally..).
Yep, all remaining expected consignments are from DD (see sig) now. I am relaxed with that. DD is the best of all. And you hearing this compliment from me, and i am no spam! $)
After waiting a month I only got part of my order. No response from them grrrrr! Their chat isn't even working. This is the second order issue in a row.
DD's chat is wonderful because we dont need to wait long before Otta's in line. In contrast, DX's chat takes very long to get someone (James, ..) in line. Chat definitely works, you have my word. Leave the chat window open and ignore it. After a while (e.g. 1.0hr *ggg*) someone would enter your session and ..etc..
DD's chat comes with audio signals; with DX's chat you never know whether ..etc..
DX's chat really s*cks for the waiting time, but it does work. kreisler's word. (if it counts anything to you or anybody else. hehe.)
What does this mean on DX: I am trying to get a refund after placing my order on the 5th of Jan, I cancell on the 26th Jan 2012. Are they trying to con me?
Been trying for 4 days morning noon and night...nobody there. Guess I'll resolve the issue through paypal and find another source for the trustfire Tr-1200
I finally got hold of them via chat...took about an hour. Anyway the Trustfire TR-1200 they took my money for over a month ago was never in stock for them to sell. They couldn't tell me when it will be in stock. Found a seller here in the USA that has them in stock for less than $40 delivered. Won't be doing business with DX again.
Next time i fill a cart with DX items (or on DD, with DD items) i will take a minute before i hit the Sumit Order button and contact them via chat and ask them about actual stock availability. And if 1 or 2 items are not in stock, then i would reconsider doing that particular transaction with them (or better with MF, or DD).
DX is not better than DD. Both suffer from the supply chain. If an article is out of stock in their warehouses, then we dont have any guarantee when it will be back in stock.
Neither can the chattists tell you any further details about the situation. They look the SKU up in their computer system, see that it is out of stock, and see that and when it was put on back order. Nothing they can do more about it because it's not in their hands anymore.
If the suppliers dont supply the backordered items (for reasons we dont know), then DX doesnt know what's going on at the suppliers' sites/sides either.
Canceling out-of-stock items and waiting for a refund is pita. I learned it. My next DX and DD order placements (and MF, KD, etc.) will from now on always include a chat session.
Similar as in RL, before i drive to Walmart for a specific little item i was planning to buy, i *always* call them on the phone and ask "you got enough units of it on the shelf, yah? ok thanks, see you then in 20mins, looking forward!".
I made an order in december from UK Wourehouse hoping in a fast ship.... all items of my order were available from their website! And I really received a pack in 2 weeks (very fast) but without an item of the order (TrustFire Cree Z5 XM-LT6 5-Mode 1050-Lumen Memory White LED Convex Lens Flashlight Set (2x18650)USD 43.20). Now it's february and nothing arrived! I e-mailed to them but I'm thinking I will never see my flashlight neither the money back!
From my experience, avoid DX it's becoming very very NOT RELIABLE!
I can't believe how many people received the con mail from DX.
I received the same email myself. After waiting over a week for an order to even be processed (just 18650 and charger), I gave up, cancelled the order and get one through ebay (shipped next day). After no respond for the refund from DX, I opened my first ever PP dispute (and I've shopped online using PP for many many years). AT THE EXACT SAME DATE AND TIMESTAMP that I received email from PP about my dispute, I received an email from DX claim to have refunded my money through paypal. Talk about weird coincidence. The first thing I did is check PP and nothing is there. Same thing the next day, there is absolutely no transaction from DX to my PP account.
This is a freaking con. I believe DX has an automated response to send out fake email claiming refund so people will close their PP dispute. I kept on it on PP and finally got full refund.
Bad, bad experience. Even now I still have a couple of backorder and cancelled orders on DX and it's not moving as well, seem I have to claim all with PP dispute. DX don't seem to have anything in stock despite saying so, yet despite that, seem very fast to take your money and probably will never give it back if not for PP buyer proection.
I just opened a PayPal case on my incomplete order. They still have not issued a credit. I found a Trustfire TR-1200 here in the states for $36.50 and it will be here tomorrow.
I have never had a problem with DX before, but then again, I have never ordered so close after the chinese new year. I should have waited till march or april. I placed an order with them a few days ago. I made sure all the items were showing (ship in 2-3 days). DX states that those items are actually in stock and the items that show (ship in 5-7 days) are not in stock.
Well it did me no good. BACKORDER. I imagine DX was swamped during the holidays, but I am betting it's more of a matter of having way too many orders to fulfill.
I have tried to contact them, but with no reply and I have requested my money back, but of course, with no reply. Luckily I purchased with my Discover, (not using a paypal account), so I will just call Discover and get my money back, no matter if DX pays back or not.
I never use paypal directly, it takes months, if ever, to get a dispute done when dealing with these overseas vendors. I believe they count on that. Probably that free money from orders not shipped helps to cover their overhead.
Anyhow, never again. Very soon, I will have to quit the modding, since DX is the only vendor selling many of the items I need. (Yes I found out that many of the other sellers are actually "resellers" and they are getting their parts from DX), so no one actually has them, even though everyone shows they are in stock.
My thoughts exactly. Looking at how all my orders are stuck, even on cheap regular items, makes me ponder on this. Claiming everything in stock, once they got hold of your money, it sits there for months on backorder. WHY? It's like they're forcing us to lend them money without charge! It's looking more and more like they're doing this on purpose.
Worse still, we're the ones paying finance charges on our cards for the money DX sits on. Granted, we get our money back months afterwards, but DX already has that money interest-free for that time. Multiply by thousands of users they con thought "In stock" thing, it adds up real huge!
