Recommend me a battery

I have 9 Mr Beam led night lights. They all use 4 AA batteries. They are supposed to last a year. I am lucky if I get 3 months out of the alkalines. My cat loves to turn them on by walking around in the dark and making them all turn on. Since they are low draw on the battery, I am thinking the NIMH LSD ones would be best?

Simple, get rid of the cat

One and only: Eneloop, don’t know how much they are in the US.

Alternatives are Duracell ion core. Search this forum for “Duraloop”, could be a litte cheaper.

Eneloop

Eneloop or Tenergy

Tenergy, since you probably don’t have a charger either. Radio Control Planes, Drones, Cars, FPV, Quadcopters and more - Hobbyking at 9x4 cells you’ll probably want something with a lot of slots. Get a 8x/12x tray or make one, also get the futaba plug temp sensor (same shop or http://www.banggood.com/Skyrc-Temperature-Sensor-Cable-For-B6,B8-Charger-p-90270.html if it’s sold out as usual).
If you get Eneloops, get Japanese ones. If you get Chinese cells you might as well buy tenergy, ikea ladda etc., price is ~50% lower.

I have a 4 bay Nitecore charger. I got it for the 4 Li-ion light I have. It says it will work with Ni-Mh?

How about these?

Nitecore i4 isn’t optimal for NiMH, cooks them a bit. Dk about D4. It’s a good LiIon charger tho.
You can buy various eneloops here: Eneloop Sales: SALES CLOSED!! February 2015 including precise model numbers.

If you want Eneloops or just info about them...PM Marco (ChibiM)....he is the resident Eneloop specialist :)

A couple of weeks ago Costco had a 10AA, 4AAA, and smart charger Eneloop package for $23.99.

Just did the math and depending on how much you want you could get a great deal on nkon.nl.

They have fujitsu/FDK batteries. (They are the (former) Eneloop OEM and all made in Japan, equal to HR-3UTB)
Don’t get the Made in China Eneloops, they seem to be less robust and not as long lasting.

Link Since you’re US-based VAT is exculed. 5,25€ /4pcs is about 6,4$ per pack.

If you order 6 packs you still get away with the cheaper shipping option that costs 8,50€ -> 10ish$. (7 packs already cost 13,50€ shipping)

Makes a total of 40€ for 6 packs 4 batteries each and shipping included.
Depeding on your CC fees you’ll get away with less than 50$ for a huge pile of top notch batteries.

Just for the lazy guys: thats 17ish$ for an standard 8 pack.
