My inlaws are TV shopping. I told them to be careful about Samsung because I heard those TVs can play ads on the TV itself, like in the UI. Anyone come across that?

Weāve been an exclusively Samsung Smart TV household for the past 10 years and I havenāt seen any of that either.
Currently using LG Oled 65". Great picture. No reliability issues. Just ordered a TCL 98". Wanted something a little bigger.
I went on a shopping spree. Spent a few Convoyās worth of Blu-rays on Amazon that have huge discount like 60% off 
. Thank you for reminding me how few 4k UHD titles I have. I am very deep into video but havenāt paid attention lately to stocking the supply. That GRUV site is also very interesting. Probably well known but I didnāt know about it.

For the Samsung TV that I use as a smart TV, that isnāt a problem.
When buying a TV (or just about everything else), I read a bunch of customer reviews to see what people are complaining about.
That complaint did not show up for the smart TVs that my family owns/uses.
