Id Hate to have one of these, for the reason that it will tarnish :/ Cant actually handle it without gloves specifically for that torch!
I do prefer the mataracs! which is to me the more expensive and difficult to get option. ITP are readily available from HKequipment for example.
Im not sure if these are the right versions (Q5?) upgraded?
The pwm on the q5 upgrade is so bad the light is useless .I agree with the tank 703 but like the 701 as much maybe more ,cheaper different tint ,less light but not much .I have mixed feelings about the b3 n-light which I agree with vectrex you worry about losinga 30$ tiny light .I have 5 - 701's @ 6$ and 5 - 703's@ 8$ each they are much easier to use or lose I like the eo8 tank as well .. great lights //hate the itp..One of those lights I just never want to use .I think even if I had the newest model with no pwm I still wouldn't like it .
Has anyone ordered the newer ITP A3 EOS R5 from Going Gear?
I just received mine, but it was a packaged in a Q5 box, with Q5 instructions.
Can someone tell me the difference? I'm worried they might have sent me the Q5 version, which is cheaper. Thanks!
EDIT: Whenever I switch to Medium, it flickers like a strobe, until I give it a little shake. Only happens when I switch to medium. Any item why and how to solve it? Thanks!
They always send it in a Q5 box, but with an R5 sticker.
Regarding the flicker in medium mode - I've no idea.
Whats the difference between the looks off Q5 and R5?
My LED is a square divided into 4 equal rectangle. Is that R5?

Sounds like XP-G (you can't tell the bin from the emitter shape).

Not that anyone else needs to confirm this :) but I have the XP-E version and just tried it out with a 10400 and it does work so for anyone interested it's not just the newer versions.
hey guys have you ever experienced your a3 not lighting up when you twist the head? i had my a3's head replace as the original head didnt want to light up anymore.now the replacement head is starting to bugout on me at times.
my light is on my keychain and doesnt get really banged up or what.just the usual bunch of keychain routine. fed with energizer primaries only.
hope someone could give me some possible insights on this. really love this light.
After more than a year of heavy duty use (constant power on-offs, some accidental drops from 1 meter, constant on on MED with 10440...) no problems at all
CLEAN the contacts, both the not anodized part of the battery tube and the part of the driver which contacts with that part of the tube....
Check the spring, fully press it with a tool, or with the battery....

I bought an itp a3 eos upgraded with R5 and I'm very satisfied. Now I plan to buy another one, I know there aren't plenty of differences to the new olight i3. Which version should i buy ?
I'm on failure number 4 in my iTP A3 EOS. I only use alkaline disposables in it and they fail a regular intervals, about every six months. I purchased a Preon1 to replace it. Hopefully it won't fail.

And has anyone actually measured (with an electronic kitchen scale! exactitude of 1/10 grams) the exact weight of it (without clip and without key chain)?
Some internet resources claim 32 grams which sounds realistic, and others claim 35.7 grams with keychain and clip, and again others claim 23.3 grams, or even 9 grams.
Please could someone remeasure and verify (without clip and without key chain) to the tenth of a gram, thanks!

Every one of them. If I put the iTP head on my Preon2 body, I can get it to light just barely. Something keeps crapping out with the electrics in these things. No more for me, I have never had so many crappy lights in a row.
My iTP A3 Titanium is on the way. Should be here in two weeks or so. If you're still interested I will verify it then.
