Review: Romisen RC-29 3-mode 1x AA/14500

You already own the LD20 (and you could use a LD10 body and run 14500's in it as you know. many do it like this!), i dont anymore. I do like to have some flashlights in rotation, for the change and the fun of it. Similar to wearing a jacket or pair of shoes. So after being immensely satisfied with the Xeno E03 and the Romisen i was curious to own the ever popular Quark too for a close-up comparison. When 4Sevens came up with the Pre-Holiday sales (~20% off) i was mocking their special offers at first because the products still cost x-times more than Ultrafire C3, Romisen, a.o. But when during my waiting frenzy (DX, Manafont, HKequipment, etc.) the Black Friday Blitz sale came up (30% off) i couldnt resist and got the mentioned X AA² Tactical (incl the 8% cpf discount). It is hard to justify three similar 1x AA/14500 lights in my personal possession .. but then again it's hard to justify the possession of several pair of shoes too haha.

If i hadnt had to wait so long for my stuff (DX, MF, HKE, etc.), i am sure that i wouldnt have pulled da trigger for the 4Sevens order. and in my frenzy i even made the mistake and did not split the order for the customs clearance fees (import taxes, ..), which would have saved me another 7 or 8 bucks.

I love my Quark.. but i also adore my Romisen. Both score very high, shoulder at shoulder, in the contest of the best allround flashlight for daily use. As does the Xeno E03. I could hardly afford the 4Sevens order (and my review is still pending) .. but i certainly havent regretted the purchase up to this date!

i am still the cheapo and budgeteer as before. (and my Quark has a 10yrs performance guarantee. who knows how often one has to buy a new Ultrafire C3 to replace the old one? I would bet that 4Sevens lights are more reliable than the various C3's.)
