I guess the ground ring you referred to is the most outer gold ringā¦Iāll test mine first, should be arrived within day or two, already inbound in the post office. if doesnāt work well, might need a small magnet to elevate the + pole and create a smaller foot printā¦
Man; the Small Sun is completely different inside than the UltraFire version. (T60) Both the gold ring and center contact are spring loaded, against the corresponding brass center and aluminum end of the battery magazine.
Better internal design (and supposedly alum reflector instead of plastic) for more than triple the price, yikes, and it has that mode lock feature (annoying). If it was $35-$40 instead of $89, I'd buy one or 2, but $89 puts it in a whole nother realm, and it still has to be mod'ed to beat out a HD2010 in lumens and throw, accept of course the HD2010's you are buying today at some patheticly low amps...
Paid $87.99 and yes, had brief but significant buyer's remorse. Absolutely no regrets now. Few lights in my collection can match its quality, or its performance.
just received mine from FT
can confirm the reflector is 100% plastic, any button top batteries work fine even though overlaps on circle trace on the contact board, and with 1 battery (either panasonic 3100 - 4.17v and trustfire flame 2400 - 4.07v) gives the same current at high mode: 1.84 Amp (so, itās safe to say it is current regulated? )
No hidden turbo found thoughā¦
compared to Trustfire X9, the ZYT08 hotspot is larger, eventhough only driven at 1.84A it is quite bright (can keep up with X9) when under 50 m distance. so for the king of thrower title, I might say ZYT08 still unable to take it from my X9.
Yes, the X9 is one of my favorite throwers, but it's more a dedicated thrower than the T08 or HD2010 for example -- these lights still put out a good amount of lumens as well.
