Yes, pretty hot - expected of course. It's a little more robust than a decent C8 in heat sinking, but not all that much.
RaceR86 - interesting deal on the L6. A shame bout the reflector, but sounds like a standard size short C8 in this one? If so, easily replaceable? The regular L6 has the new long C8 reflector and I haven't found a source to buy those.
