Review TrustFire TR-3T6 Triple XM-L T6 5-Modes Memory LED Flashlight (3x18650)

GOod THank you

Thankx for ur opinion Benkie,

I used TF Flames(From DX SKU-20392),with 2 cell config & it drew 0.9A & with 3 cell it was 0.6A,yes I totally agree with u that TR-1200 is a thrower cuz I noticed a tight spot but it was underpowered. With the same 2 cells draws upto 3A in Tf-3t6.

I purchased a Ultra Fire Wf 139 & 4*18650,the problem is the charger cuts at 3.84v, in each cells, green led status for more than +5hrs or so but still the voltage is 3.84.Can any one tell if the charger is bad or all the cells.

In the meantime I contacted Dx & they are ready for giving replacement or store credit, but I somehow feel what if the new batch of Wf-139 chargers are all undercharging or perhaps the 4*Tf Flames what I got are all defective ones, any one reads this post plz reply and give opinion whatever in ur opinion.

Anyone who thinks that it is not related to TF-3T6 can reply in this thread

Probability will increase of getting a good opinion/answer/suggestions,beside until now I am only present in this thread only.

Apart from it Tf-3t6 is my first ever flashlight cuz of this amazing thread but with donno perhaps with a bad charger or defective cells(still to figure it out) it feels awful.

Thanks Dimitrioptimus.

Ive been bussy all this week so i have not been on here and i have not read the full story but my money is on the charger, but it could be a bit of both.

This is the charger i brought my old man, it uses the correct charging methods for the li-ion batteries unlike the Wf-139 chargers

Uk plug

US plug

Eu plug

As for trustfire flames for the life of me i dont know why people are buying from DD please read this thread.

some times it pays to spend a little more

Hello Benkie,

Actually I said I purchased from Dx(Deal Extreme) not DD(Dino Direct),I purchased the TF cells in August & paid $10.2,

I am getting store credit for Wf-139,& in Dx Xtar is not available so what are Ur views for TR003 ?

Ahh ok my bad, but ive never had much luck with the DX flames and ive never used a TR003 but for a quick look they are more likely to over charge and dont use the correct charging methods for li-ion batteries, but lots of people have them.

New here, thinking about buying a TrustFire TR-3T6. My question is on high all three emitters are on? Medium 2 emmiters and low 1 emmiters, or all emmitters all the time? newbe!

All emmitters on in all modes

Just got mine today and I can't wait to try it out tonight down some dark streets/alleys (of which there is no shortage where I'm at), etc. Love the fact that it can run 4xAA in emergencies. Anyone know the true lumen output of this thing? I've seen some people say over 2000. How about the runtime on low?

I can say right now, however, in a fully sunlit room you can still see the intense light where ever you shine it. It really puts my "go-to" light, the Inova T4-MP (175 lumen model) to shame. Just seems down right dull in comparison.

Nothing scientific, just flashlight porn (low res I know, no memory card atm for anything larger):

Direct emitter shot on high. Why? Because I can.

I think it's important to get perspective shots as well (I wish more reviewers would do this):

(with extension tube)

And here are the night shots. It was around 12 AM and as you can see it was extremely foggy, very unusual weather for the past few weeks in my part of Washington (the NWS even issued a high pressure air stagnation advisory).

I was holding the light in one hand and shooting in the other so they aren't too steady but it was fun. It didn't throw very far at all in the fog (about 25-30 meters before the spot disappears) so I'd like to go out again when we get some better weather conditions, and I won't forget my gloves next time!

It did, however, provide very nice spill while illuminating my path perfectly and shining brighter than some car headlights that drove by, so I tend to agree with the ~2000 lumen estimates. I had it running on high the entire walk for about 40 minutes, the head barely got warm and the batteries are still going strong (2400mAh TrustFires).

This is what most of the streets looked like.

Insane amount of fog.

This was the clearest one I got because I rested the camera on the pavement. I think the exposure was perfect on this one as it shows almost exactly how it looks in real life when shining a few meters in front of yourself.

Very floody (more so with the fog).

Thankx for the reply,

I think I will purchase some other thing from DX by using the store credit & buy the Xtar charger from Manafont .

I’ve never had any trouble with TF Flames from DX but I guess there can be bad batches anywhere. The only places I would consider purchasing them from are DX, Manafont & BIC. Anywhere else and I’d worry about getting fakes. I also bought my WF-139 charger from DX and love it. Mine has been rock solid and consistent. I even opened it up and enabled the 16340 terminals so it now charges any battery I put into it except for the Xtar 18700 cells which are a hair too long. I am able to get them to work but the fit is not as proper as it should be.

@Luxi... Great pics!

I bought mine from Manafont, this: http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/trustfire-tr3t6-triple-xml-t6-5modes-memory-led-flashlight-3x18650-p-7443

I'd have few questions about this if anyone can help. Mine is a way more different what comes to sizes/shapes on the certain parts of the lamp. Mine has 8 gaps between cooling fins, every picture I've seen has 7 of them. The screwable lens part is also shorter in mine, 1,8cm or 18mm. The one in all the pictures is way longer. The total length of the flashlight with all parts assembled is 286mm when it should be 290mm, this because of the lens part.

My lens is also plastic, shouldn't it be Coated Glass Lens?

Also wasn't so impressed when I tested this one out in the dark. All I've ever had are some 1xAA lamps and I wasnt' blown away by the amount of light. Not the "massive wall of light" thing everyone is talking about, no real hotspot and usable to range like 50m, doesn't really illuminate longer than that.

So is mine a fake?

@Zardon:

Perhaps you could upload some pictures of what you have received.

The "massive wall of light" is kinda an overstatement in my opinion, but it is indeed bright, with a lot of flood. I believe my beamshots above show pretty acurately how it looks in the real world (then again I haven't yet been able to test mine in proper conditions: completely dark/clear night). Indoors is a whole other story: Ceiling-bounce is great, lights up my living room more than a 60W bulb.

I agree that this wouldn't provide any useful light past 50 meters (even less in rainy or foggy conditions). It just barely lit up a house 155 meters away (measured in Google Earth) but it was more like a feint glow and nothing I would consider usable light, you would need a much deeper reflector for those distances (pretty subjective, however). Granted there were a few street lights around, so it would definitely be different in total darkness.

There is a 200m long school playground where I live with no lights around, so I'm gonna go there for some more testing later. :D

I took some photos altough my mobilecamera is crappy like hell.

As you can see and compare this is whole different story from what I've seen.

More close-up shot.

As you can see, mine doesn't have a same lens/head as in the pictures: http://www.manafont.com/imagelibrary.php?src=ns3W19DJ2JHo7M6jn5Ohppmdk5an5NXZ&w=600&h=600&f=jpg&q=90&hash=eafa5150cd66b24f1409c0fa4daf23e3

Lens is made of glass.

Picture of the spot from 1m away. My poor camera makes this look this bright and doesn't show all the areas. There is 20cm wide hotspot in the middle(doesn't show in the picture, it's there in the middle), then 50cm wide somewhat bright area, in the picture it's this bright overexposured area in the center and then outer ring you see in the picture is 170cm wide.

Yeah that's strange. Could be a new revision. I measured the bezel on mine at 18mm as well (your lens/head looks the same as mine). The only difference is that it seems like they took a small portion off the neck threads and added an extra fin and thinned the tube below the last 3 fins as well. More heat sinking is a good thing, but if it really is a lot less bright as you say and no glass lens then I'd contact Manafont and ask them for an original TR-3T6 replacement. Also send them those pics, maybe they can shed some light (ahem) on the issue.

Ur Tf3T6's specs are same as mine as per physical attributes is concerned & I too purchased from Manafont.Actually u took the pic from different angle than that of Manafont or perhaps this is new version.Anyways if U want more info then checkout post no-310,320,321(those are perhaps other little mods).
