Round Die LEDs List

Thanks, I must have misread it, I was thinking it was the same wattage rating. I’ll likely order one eventually. nice to see 8A works, the 6500K I just used a 5A driver, but it was only a 14500 light.

My first KD order went fine, about a month total time iirc. It was a small order, and the last time the order was much larger. they were both nearly three years ago so I’m sure it could be fine now.

I’ve had similar experiences with KD.
They ship much faster from their AliExpress store.
They don’t have everything on their site listed on AE but they have a good amount of things listed.

How did this turn out? I haven’t seen many reports on this emitter. I’d be curious about the CRI/R9 measurements you seemed to mention earlier.

I forgot to make a follow-up post about this, so here it is:

It’s not bad at all in my opinion. It gets pretty bright, and in my Convoy M21A with the 6V8A driver, it actually runs pretty cool, relatively. MUCH cooler after 30s-60s on 100% than the R70 4000K XHP70.3 Hi that was in the light before. It never got too hot to hold, honestly I wouldn’t say it ever got above really warm.

Here are some beamshots. I forgot to lock my photo settings, and the area I was in was light up by a sodium street lamp (giving a deep orange glow to the surroundings, it is behind the shed about 20ft), but the brightness is pretty accurate.

As mentioned in the pictures, I am using an orange peel reflector, because I didn’t have a smooth C8/M21A reflector that had a big enough emitter hole. I tried a 9mm hole one, but it didn’t work because the reflector was just sitting too high on the gasket and made a horrible ringy beam. With a smooth reflector focused well, im sure you could get a bit more throw.

The tint really reminds me of a good non-green SST-20 4000K, especially in the small amount of angular tint shift around the hotspot where it gets a slightly creamy color with a tinge of blue, just like in my FW3M with FA3 or FA4 bin SST-20, not sure how else to explain that.

Here is a pretty accurate tint comparison, except the top FL5009R is not that green. This phone really gives me a hard time comparing tint on three or more LEDs, it always makes one look rosy or more green. Top is FL5009R 5000K (extremely neutral just like 5000K FL351A), middle of FL707MD 4000K, bottom is XPL-HI 3000K gen1, not sure of bin, but they’re actually a tiny bit rosy. CRI on the FL707MD seems to be pretty good, but it doesn’t look like it has 90+ R9. Reds look better with SFT-40/70 3000K, or any R9080 Nichia 219B or 519A.

This emitter was expensive, $14 at JLHawaii808. Fireflies surely have them cheaper, but I think they usually sell their emitters 5-10 at a time minimum.

If you want a 7070 emitter that is more throwy than most LEDs of the same size, with decent tint and CRI, and don’t want the other more throwy (I’m guessing, looks like smaller die size) round die FFL emitter, then you could think about getting one of these. I’m overall happy with this purchase.
