I was wondering if anybody had changed out the led’s in their s-41 to xpl-hi.

A few people have. I did the E14, same thing.
Maybe need to put little thin spacers under the TIR legs to stop damaging the silicone layers of the LED’s.

I swapped in XPL HI on mine. Simple to reflow off the old emitters and swap in the XPL HI. No further modification needed.

The light is brighter and throwier with XPL HI installed.

I did as well. Great way to improve output and a little bit of throw.

Thank’s might have to try it.Any guess what the lumens is with xpl-hi.

I’m guessing high 3000 at turn on. I measured the light pulling over 13A with XP-L HI V3 3C.

It depends on the cell used etc but if you’re putting in those emitters I would install a better driver at the same time. I never saw more than around 7A from the stock one, regardless.

Yup. I forgot to mentioned that i also changed the driver to the MTN driver with Bistro. Driver and tail springs are bypassed as well.
