Congrats. Lucky guy.

the light is on the way to Denmark…

Did a little mod to my jm35
Changed the mtg2 to a xhp70 :stuck_out_tongue:

nice!

did you modify the driver?
how did lumen and beam change?

pix?
data??
c’mon man!

Still have to wait until it’s night time. The beam is less warm. And not too cool. I’ll have to see at night how much more light it comes out. All stock light, just changed the Emitter.
I don’t have a method of comparing the beam to before nor can I get an exact lumen output. But I’m guessing it would be more than than he mtg2 since the driver is at 5.3amps. And according than he the xhp70 at 4.8 amps it should be over 3000 lumens.

did you measure amps at the emitter before and after led change?

No I didn’t. I just straight swapped.
Didn’t have time to measure any current.

Only trouble is, this is a boost driver. So the amps at the tail, won’t be the same as the amps at the LED. i.e. it uses more amps from the battery to deliver the correct voltage to the LED.

Still very interested to see your results though.

All I can say from testing by using my phones lux app values is that with the mtg2 ceiling bounce I got 330lux. With the xhp70 it’s 470lux ceiling bounce. So there is a difference and increase in light output.

Thank you M4D M4X for your great feedback on the JM35. I am glad to learn that this is a floody light. My main use will be for inline skating on dark streets so I need to light up a wide area of the road in front of me.

I am now trying to decide between the MT-H2 and XHP-50 emitter. I want the light to make hard to see obstacles like potholes and small debris immediately visible obviously. Based on the outdoor beam shots, it seems the tint on the XHP-50 makes objects stand out a bit more. Would you folks here agree?

Edit: Also, will a high current 26650 battery like the Keeppower 4200mAh (30A) make a big difference in this light? If not I will go for a higher capacity 20A battery like the Vappower 5200mAh.

Anyone have the XP-L version of this cool light? I bought the rear clicky version from BG. Beamshots? Pics? Experiences?
