Shopping with Andrew Jackson. 5 Keylights Under $20!

Hi VOB, was just getting ready to check out and caught your message, I do have a heap of those Ditos, what a light, do you know if they are still in business…??

No, no mem in the A01 or the Dito’s, or 348’s, got some UT01’s that have mem… ha ha, a lot more memory than I have frankly,
And by the way, YOUR welcome V.O.B….!! Forgot I’m sorry, I have better manners than that… Will watch your vid when I get back home, I have some kids that want to show me something called a “Thrower” hum…
They heard I like flashlights, so packing up a few, dozen, to show them as well, but they don’t know this yet, they will know what a thrower is for sure by the end of the weekend… BLF style throwers…

My OL edition A01 has next mode memory. Was slightly disappointing. Should have been no memory, or off time based. Next mode sucks

LOL

Can’t say that I do…

Another great video… thanks for sharing.

I carry a AAA light all day, every day in my pocket. I started with the A01, but it quit working after about 6 months (driver). I then went with the Jetbeam u. The stock led was a bit cool for my tastes, so I swapped the emitter for a Nichia 219C 5000K right away. Other than that, I LOVE this light. Inexpensive, bright, good low mode, optic, nice threads… a definite winner. Oh, and regulation is amazing (see Budda’s graphs).

Edit: oh, and nice video. Had me wondering for a minute why we were watching you clean the kitchen

The anodizing on the Crelant E3 wears out quickly (I have one in green color)
And I love my Jetbeam µ

You sold me on the JET Beam Matt! I broke down and ordered one last night.

Hey Matt, the µ is the symbol for “micro”. Greek letter.

Thanks Robert….Those letters and lines and squiggles are all greek to me

Thanks again for this video Matt! My little JetBeam got here yesterday. Initially I was kinda shocked at how small it was. BUT……then darkness came & I took it outside. I was utterly amazed at the amount of light it put out.

I immediately ordered another.

Thank again for calling attention to it. :+1:

Who is Andrew Jackson?

Anyway, i have 2 of those lights, but different.

I have a “first batch” A01 with Manker driver (no PWM and no memory and a lovely 4000K Nichia 219B) but to be honest i hardly ever use it…
The head is big and the body is smooth so it’s finicky to turn on with one hand.
It starts on moon mode which is so dim it has no practical use, so i have to twist it at least 2 times.

I have the Dito version of the SS Convoy. It has a cool white XP-G2.

Maybe i’ll get the Jetbeam µ too one day, but i still love my purple Olight i3S.

Andrew Jackson was, among other things; the 7th president of the USA. His picture is on the US $20 bill.

Don’t feel bad, it took me three days to figure it out and I live here in the USA.

I don’t know if the low on this JetBeam is actually called a moonlight…. but thankfully it is bright enough to be useful. It is an impressive little light to me, & it just cost about $10. :+1:
…………

Andrew Jackson

I’m glad someone mentioned the olight and wondered why almost no one mentioned the deals on copper lumintop tool //nichia or bangoods deal on 10$ aluminum nichia tools … crazy good

  1. specila thanks to raccon city who had to give another member a free olight i3s a couple years back and gave me a sweet dark blue one … one of the better blue colored lights out there .

Do you have a link to either of those Boaz, I’d like to check them out.

Never mind… is THIS it?

I love making life hard on the foreign guys…………

To be honest I had to look it up before I made the video. If you just walked up to 100 U.S. Citizens on the street most of them would only be able to name one or two. Most would get George Washington ($1) bill. A hand full would get Abraham Lincoln ($5). Nearly all would get Benjamin Franklin ($100)… I expect when Barak Obama dies a coin will be minted with his likeness having been our first black president.

Yep.
I think it’s one of the original AAA twisties, which form factor is found today in many many AAA twisties, sometimes with tailswitch or side switch.
But i think it has a forefather too, some pre 2013 EOS-lamp or something.

Thank you sir, good info. . :+1: …

A little search helped:

Apparently it started with the 2008 ITP A3 EOS.
But apparently the maratac AAA was also already around.

Here’s an old CPF topic with pics:

Yeah, I’d say it helped a lot. Thanks for the link, that is a good thread with a lot of great pics. A little trip back thru time too. . Good find Jerommel!!! :+1:
