I have a few, but some are in the works with mods to push them to the limits. right now i have a TK75vn, (215 edition) Olight SR90 (soon to get a XHP70) a BTU Tom-E Super Shocker, ( soon to get pushed with more amps) several experimental DSTs under various levels of mods, with the most powerful one with a XP-G2 dedomed at 4.0 amps on a 26650. Also have some runner-ups, including a Jacobs A60, some aspherics, etc.
588kcd Uniquefire 1405. I’ve since made slightly higher output ones using the MTN-MAX drivers instead of the cheap 5A buck drivers from Mountain Electronics. Dedomed XP-G2 S4 2B with a little something extra. Cerakoted by none other than n10sivern.
Ignore the lube on the bezel, the light had a really good night out with a C8. 
Nice!! I always wanted to mod one of those DTS’s but I have never seen one for sale at the “local” home depot. My local home depot is an hour’s drive away so I don’t get there often.
Nice mod Kloepper. I have one of them with a de-domed XM-L2 in it. It’s still an amazing thrower. I modded the original driver on mine, I’m at around 6amps. Mine sure doesn’t look as nice as yours though. Wow that is a beauty!
Built a few aspherics like a green PT120 DD with fet switch in a copper pill powered by 4 D NiMH Tenergy maglite with 50mm Optolife glass. According to Lambda 4 Ds should pull about 30A. Have a rifle mounted TR1200 host running three 4/3A NiMH (18650size) cells at about 12A to a red PT54 w/50mm Optolife aspheric. Tape switch is set up with a fet that is powered by a CR2016 coin cell. Have a few A60s and a few Fandyfire/Skyray/Marsfire SLT-V2/V6 driven as high as 5A with XML2 noctigon. Bought a 1405 that an aluminum adapter is under construction for a 75mm lens with a new driver. Am also on the Maxtoch M24 group buy.

I managed to score six of them when they went on a $9 dollar clearance almost two years ago. I left one stock, four are reserved for the monster Quad-DST, (which will finish eventually) and one is very modded.

DBSAR I remember that sale and wanted one then but never saw one. Then I bid on a lot of them on e-bay from a clearance place, 5 pieces but it went over $100 and that was way more than I wanted to pay.
I still check the clearance section of all Home Depots in my area when i go to them, as sometimes these discontinued lights can still show up randomly found by store employees. i have seen otehr Defiant lights appear that way long after they been sold out. if i see any DST’s i will grab them even if they are 20 bucks a piece now.
Anyone have a picture of the DST? I have one of the larger Defiants 3C, but I use it mostly to prop open my window in the summer. I know there were several models out, when I purchased mine- and I don’t think I have the true Super Thrower.

I’ve been busy lately so haven’t really used these much. Hence, if I get the chance I don’t bust out “a light” I try a couple. I think they all classify as throwers. I have to admit, that modded Trustfire X7 looks good

I really need to get set up to measure throw, but I haven’t yet. Right now I have a Courui that I guesstimate would be around 350kcd, but I want to do the KD reflector mod soon. My 1405 isn’t my favorite and isn’t done either, but it’s probably over 300kcd as well. I need more throwers :bigsmile:
