I believe the cross area is where the emitter lines up with, not the front of the light…
If I recall correctly, Bridgelux uses several different chips — the first is a standard blue, the second is specifically around 480nm, both claimed to have a wider FWHM. So it’s not about the phosphor. That’s exactly why the datasheets strictly define the current range — otherwise, due to different Vf values, the spectral mix shifts in a rather amusing way.

It would be great to see EC200 version with F35R.
For this model additional throw would be a significant boost for usability and with high CRI it will be very competitive option:
- SFT25R 5000K version spec is for 228M throw so if it F35R version can produce 170M it will be competitive with Baton 4 PRO
- High CRI
- USB C charging (many people will prefer that)

Use as general light at home above 4k to understand what is pleasant light. Prefered light temp is at incandescent lamps which are ~2700 - 3000k, in common.
As flashlights are used during lesser time so comfort requirements are lower to allow more efficient higher temp LEDs. But it’s not optimum comfort. Compromistic value is 3500-4500k.
As marketologists want to write more of runtimes/lumens and some (mb a minority) people agree to get a little higher performance by the cost of the comfort, so the temp goes beyond comfortable values of temps. Even up to blue 6500k terror for eyes.
Besides the comfort, nature environments are better processed with lower color temps ~3000k. This may mean faster reaction there, as besides to see you need also to understand what you see. Lower temps also are better for high moisture conditions as rainy and fog weather. This makes lower temps as more universal in usage. Besides you may tolerate the light for longer time with lesser eyes and mind fatigue, what may influence on trauma chances. Being outside of home somewhere in a park, even close to some town, - you don’t want to get traumas at all. Just correct color temp reduces such situations. Your pseudocomfort 5k and any >4k adds risks there.
