APEX is floodier, but it's also somewhat bigger. This photo is from my review:

APEX is also more expensive, so in this case my vote goes to King. They are both great lights and I won't regret buying APEX either. For me it's King for jacket pocket, APEX for real work. :)
Ps. Whichever you decide to buy, go for NW emitters! It's well worth the price difference.
