You also have the host only
I do not own any C8 , can’t give any further info about it
The triple emitter C8F is pretty neat.
Does not look like they offer the Host in the Triple form.
Yeah, just noticed that there are 3 different C8 :person_facepalming:
So many options for flashlights, and still they’re never enough
I’ve also had this in my cart for awhile too. I’ve been waiting on a review. I may just have to go ahead and get it myself.
I would like to see a dismantled review.
Looks like Barkuti is getting ready to pick one for review…
Sofirn recently inquired me for reviewing their latest C8 style torch. Looks quite cool! Tracy Wan (from Sofirn) told me they're using a new driver with high power + low power MOSFETs. It's gonna be a homebrew review, of course. In all honesty, I'd buy an Aneng 8008 plus some current shunt right now, but I'm so skint… No worries though, plenty of copper sheet and wires, a pack of subohm resistors, soldering iron, … can homebrew a shunt with ease. modding for direct driver is quit risky, i fear that the MCPCB is alumium
Interesting light.
But i don’t like the “improved” design of the tube and tail cap.
I got one on the way to me. It should be here in about 2 weeks and I will do complete disassembly with pictures and measures.
Awesome can’t wait to see.
But i don’t like the “improved” design of the tube and tail cap.
Yeah, the design is a bit wonky - gotta live with that.
Maybe a Convoy-Tube fits
@mrheosuper
I would use DTP boards from KD, so that’s not a big problem.
I just fear that the board is just screwed to the reflector like the latest Kings…
Got one but it died

Bought one. Thanks!
Good to know that this light has some flaws, but KDs DTP boards will sort that out.
What boards you plan to use?
I think I will saw a single Triple board with 4000K 219Cs into 3 parts - its way cheaper than 3 single boards
Edit: on the other hand: the original board is 1.5mm thick, so I think I will spend the extra fee dollars for the 26mm boards, because they are the right thickness.
Get one Sofirn C8T XPL HI,very good build and distance throw, a triple XP-G3 in my cart now
I hope my question is not too basic (have read item description linked above).
Since I have 3 different C8s already: How difficult would it be to “convert” a regular C8 to a triple one? Is the main difference the triple mcpcb and the reflector? Are these items available somewhere, somehow? I can see the KD triples, but not sure which reflectors will match up.
Thanks.
Not very difficult thanks to the BLF and it’s glorious members
S2+ and S21a spacers are available in EU. The Sofirn C8F triple reflector appears shallower than the deeper head allows for. In other words, it looks lke they could have made the triple reflector deeper and thus, with greater throw. When it comes to multiple LED setups, more throw is a welcome thing since multiple emitters usually means lots of flood and very little throw.
Too much flood also goes for multiple emitters with multiple TIR type lens - once again lots of flood and very little throw for the amount of power being used.
I think the only multiple emitter setup wth decent throw is the Foursevens MMU-X3R but that reflector is quite deep for a multiple emitter setup. The 3 emitters also appear closer together toward the center.
I received mine today.
Not with XP-G2 but with XP-G3
Not a problem, because I had the 3 219C from KD already laying around for a week or so.
I had to file down the 16mm boards quite a bit before they fit inside the light, but now it works and it’s just beautiful.
I didn’t use the original driver because the UI is a bit weird to me.
At the moment, the light isn’t available anymore, which I find really sad, because this is a good entry-light.
It’s brighter than a normal C8 and has a bigger hotspot and doesn’t need to be modded - all springs are bypassed, there is enough thermal compound under the MCPCB and the driver seems to be decent.
