Mine doesn’t work this way.
I highly recommend asking what other’s HS05 units do because my review is over 12 months old. Things can change over time due to changes in the firmware or components
Just testing a 14500 battery. At 3v the indicator flashes red for 5 seconds when its first switched on, it then turns off and drops to moonlight (1 lumen) level. At 2.8v it stays on blinking red and the main LED flashes twice every minute
I’d still like you to ask on the Facebook group to see what other people’s more recent HS05’s do.
Mine stays a solid red warning light. Doesn’t flash.
The red light came on with Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA but it didn’t stay on long. With new AA the red light stood off.
I’ve seen YouTube video where the green light came on in strobe mode. This light doesn’t like 14500.
I don’t like going on Facebook.
Then you most likely won’t get any help. Sofirn has excellent service from that group.

Oh…hey…you’re welcome and I’m glad it got resolved! I sent him and Jackie both a message because they know us here, and Barry is of course fluent in the technology and operation and such. Sometimes other customer service reps don’t, or there’s a language challenge or something. 
HS05 is discontinued? So will there be a replacement headlamp for that?
Barry didn’t mention anything about an replacement headlamp. You never know what’s in the works.
Hmm… Sofirn rarely announce much nowadays. Hope 14500/AA headlamp are not abandoned.
I still see HS05 sold though.
Barry is from the sofirnlight store, it’s not listed on there. AliExpress is an entirely different team and they don’t associate themselves with the other platforms. Sofirn is an odd company for this reason, I don’t understand it. The Facebook Sofirn group from sofirnlight and amazon won’t allow AliExpress posts.
I can’t find the HS05 on Amazon U.S. anymore.
I guessing online vendors are getting rid of old stock on the HS05, until there are gone. Maybe the HS05 is getting a redesign.
I like my HS05 and wouldn’t mine another, that works as intended.

That is so bizarre
I wonder if Sofirn is going to update the HS05 with Anduril 2, if Sofirn decide to update the HS05 at all.
