Yep, every Sofirn light I have bought has been from either AliExpress or Amazon.
I've never bothered with the official Sofirn website.
Sofirn's AE web store is pretty impressive.

I just checked last night: In Ali Express, the Sofirn Official Store has better prices and some good discounts for a few models. Shipping fees from China are either free of charge or lower than on the new (relaunched) website of Sofirnlight.com
Aren’t they from the same Sofirn company? If not, they should realign their prices to keep them at the same level for consistency.
I find that’s par for the course as far as Chinese companies with multiple shops are concerned. The prices from Sofirn on AliEx, their official site, and their Shopee/Lazada shops are all different. Occasionally it benefits you if you purchase from local e-commerce platforms. For eg if I buy from the official shop on Shopee Malaysia, it’s up to $5 cheaper for an item without using coupons. I was able to buy an sp40 for the equivalent of $15 USD shipped.
Pak Darosk, thanks for sharing.
Indeed, I have noted that prices on Lazada Malaysia is sometimes lower than on Lazada Singapore; likewise, Lazada Thailand also sometimes is selling at a lower price than on Lazada Singapore.
I guess, some sellers just set their prices based on the “ability to pay” of their potential buyers. This is why flashlights in the EU region and in the USA as well as Canada are sold at higher prices than in Southeast Asia. Maybe it has to do with taxes and shipping fees, too.
Fortunately, in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand we enjoy free trade with China. So we can buy flashlights from Chinese sellers (tax-free) at quite better prices than what our friends in the West can.
Now I am eagerly awaiting the Singapore National Sale on or around 9 August, when prices usually drop by about 10% and banks would offer rebates ($10 cash back with $100 - $150 of purchase.
Oh no…I was planning on buying some XP-L HI and SST40 emitters for modding…
I’ll email them and see what they say about availability. I loved ordering LEDs from them since they had great prices for bare emitters!
Just checked Aliexpress and typed in Sofirn and nothing?
Did you spell it right?
I got 280 hits for Sofirn.
Thanks for link.
It’s odd, but that is how they do business. Some brands have multiple “official” stores on AX alone, and I’ve asked them why to no avail, but I have ordered from different ones, and it has worked out. One method of determining whether a store is truly official is to follow a link from the brand’s website, but those aren’t always updated and current.
Then, within each store, especially on AX, there are multiple listings for the same item, each with a slightly different price. It makes for a game to compare them and maybe eek out some minor savings, but doesn’t make for a great shopping experience. But that’s AX in a nutshell.
Sofirn’s switch from Ueeshop to Shoplazza is worth noting, but perhaps not for the reasons already laid out.
The previous platform required registration to reveal the full invoice costs, and had annoying popups, so there is nothing new in that respect, except for the new popups behaving like cockroaches. I filled a cart meeting the previous $29 free shipping threshold and that remains as well.
But dig a little deeper, and Shoplazza does not have a sterling reputation according to shoppers.
Much of that seems to come from naive shoppers who expected to receive gold medals for tin can prices, and were upset when they did not, so those can be taken for what they’re worth. Predatory sellers do appear to make use of the service to scam the unwitting, and dim-witted, but whether that’s more reflective of the service, or the seller is a good question. Some complaints pertain to payments and refunds, which is not unusual, but worth keeping in mind. Same complaints can be leveled at AX, BG, or any of the other the other marketplaces and vendors commonly dealt with, so such risk should not be any news to anyone here.
The bottom line is if the new platform serves only as the e-shop, and not the fulfillment service, then there is probably little to worry about. Sofirn’s reputation is solid, and they will send the proper order, or make it right.
An argument can be made that the new site was launched prematurely, but the issues can be rectified, and there are the other vendor options remain as well.
I’ve dealt with stores hosted by Shoplazza before, they’re definitely a mixed bag. Like you said dig a little deeper and you’ll see that Shoplazza vendors vary in kind, some are relatively well-known in their niche, with great reviews, while others appear to be fly-by-night operations that take advantage of the platform by playing fast and loose with Shoplazza policies, which are similar to other ecommerce platforms out there. Rule of thumb that I live by: if the product images are low res and the product details are full of grammar mistakes, steer clear of those store regardless of where they are hosted!
