It's a good deal without the upgrade. An excellent P-60 sized light without all the heat sink issues of a drop-in. You will be happy.

Light arrived and already in use. Took it out to check a leaking roof, and stuck the head in a murky pool of water while looking for a clogged drain. The P-Rocket is apparently as watertight as that drain.
