I have one triple 319A (Carclo 10570 optic) a d they do not behave well, the hotspot shows a big yellow center. I do not know if this is general behaviour with 319’s in TIR optics
The 319As with spiegelei came from my first batch. Later some more 319A I sent you were all spiegelei free, confirmed by Maukka somewhere in our group BLF chat. That was a group chat between you, me, Texas_Ace, Chouster, and Maukka. The 3500K is very nice with no spiegelei at all. But I could be wrong, I only use those 3000K and 3500K on my bike and my garden lights, never with triple optics.
So far this is the best combination for throw and color mixing. It will cure severe tint shift LED like 144A and XPL2 easily without having to make the beam too wide:
I just built Convoy S6 with triple 319a 5000k from clemence store and with carclo 10507. The beam is smooth and pure white. Without any yellow points. And I think that the beam from triple 319a looks much better than from other LEDs with square emitters.
At first it may seem complicated, but contrary to appearances, it is very simple.
The Nichia 319 beam seems to be a nice smooth white with barely any yellow spot (if at all). I did notice if I use a high draw 18650 it over amps the led and I got some angry blue/purple color on high. I quickly stopped that before I burned the led out…
