I just work on the principle that unless it’s a diving light, try to avoid getting it wetter than using it in the rain. I imagine that on here a lot of people’s lights have a very sheltered life, mine included.
Yes, not to mention, if you are thinking of using teflon tape and you have a USB port, you are completely wasting your time. The USB port is clear path for water entry, you dont even have to submerge it to get water in there.
But that USB port port may not be as vulnerable as some people think. I had my SC21Pro go through the washing machine. There was no water ingress at all.
Unless it’s one such as these. Depends on the light. In 2024, there are solutions.

It is true that they are not dirt-cheap like most USB connectors, so they aren’t likely to be found on the ‘cheapest’ lights, granted; then again, the good stuff usually isn’t cheap - no surprise there. Shop wisely. I have a couple of lights that use such connectors, such as this, for an example:
Of course, this has nothing to do with teflon tape;-)
That is the dilemma. Only cheaper flashlights use USB charging on the light. I doubt Wurrkos would use such a nice connector.
