hope you will add protection test to this kind of review, but, it may damage the DMM permantly
when worrking with main voltage, i never trust any cheap chinese DMM, who know what will happen
I know, you have alot that comes first. I’ll be patiently waiting.
On Amazon there are 2 Fluke 17B. One regular 17B and one with temperature and frequency. What’s the temperature and frequency is for?
Can the temperature and frequency can be used for flashlight hobby?
17B+ is always with temperature and frequency.
Frequency also have duty cycle, that can be very useful to measure on pwm signals with.
The temperature probe with a DMM is usual very small (See photo in review), i.e. it can be mounted on very small object and measure their temperature, this makes it easy to measure heatsink temperature.
That leaves a whole lot that it could be... I love to use the Thermography and Thermal Imager that we have where I work. We use the Thermal Imager to locate bearings that are starting to go bad so we can get them scheduled for changes.
The meter on Amazon, one is the meter and test probe and the other is meter, test probe and temperature and frequency probes (not sure what it’s called). In your opinion is it worth spending the extra money for temperature and frequency probes?
There is no frequency probes. There is normal test probes that you always wants and then there is the thermocoupler you need for temperature measurement, you can get them from $1 on ebay (You need the banana plug version), but the one included with the 17B+ is better quality.
