How does type C work then, iirc my type C charger says 20v and 5v output, I take it this only provides the 5v as a old type USB port. With this bank it appears the QC is a faster charge method for compatible devices.

USB-C is 5 volt like any usb, to increase voltage there must be some digital communication with a chip. This is much more complicated than QC.
