Yeah. I believe the Terminator and T70 were sold back then for about $140 MSRP, which was a lot cheaper than the competition, but definitely way above what is considered budget.
What hIKARInoob said is right Blackshadow owns a few different companies like Solarstorm and Starylight and they also make lights for Hugsby and Nitenumen not sure if they own those last two? They make most of the bike lights you see on sale also. I have not seen much from lately?
I own a Solarstorm T4 cost me like 40USD back in the beginning of 2015 and is like 3000+ lumens its bright! My first proper lithium EDC was a Solarstorm SC03 and i own a bike light of them. One of the original cheaper light makers i guess.
Ever have problems with the tail switch on the Darth?
Mine quit after a week. BS sent a whole replacement tube, that one died as well.
At least it’s stuck on. It clicks, but never really opens the circuit.
So I just unscrew the tube a turn for storage or transport.
Made an impression on the cave tour we did put the guides Maglite to shame.
Yes I noticed the same about the finish and switch, also the knurling looks weak.
The anodizing may not be quite that bad in reality, it does look like bad photography, but I’m sure it’s not going to be the quality finish of real BlackShadow. It looks like it’s black color instead of grey too.
Figured I’d post it though since the real one isn’t available anymore. Anyone seen any other clones of it available lately? (I don’t need one, just curious)
I wish they hadn’t discontinued them, I use a Blackshadow Terminator in the fire department. It makes a perfect scene light for car accidents, searchlight for night-time boat calls (it’s sheer output gives it a decent throw), and easily lights up large swaths during structural fire overhauls. Mine was the early version that wasn’t as water resistant, but I’ve been looking for more. I may have to try one of the knockoffs…
