Yeah I meant 18350, my bad.
I like the shape of a 14500 more than a 16340/18350, but I no longer get lights of that size.
(I go for 18650/21700 lights.)
the 16340 doesn;t really have enough energy to cause heat issues

Hank has confirmed he’s making a 14500 model. I imagine that will satisfy any demand for something smaller than 18350.
16340 seems outdated now, with 18350’s offering better performance, while only being marginally larger, plus easy conversion to 18650 with a longer tube.
14500’s seem like the logical step down in size from an 18350 to me because they’re markedly narrower.

Same for me. I’ve only got one 18350 light (S2+) that I use sometimes, but the rest are 18650/21700, even for EDC.
I’d like to see a 16340 light with Andúril
Sofirn offers the SC21, 16340, tailmagnet, High CRI, Ramping UI, and built in charging.
SC21 is the Phattest, at 22.5mm diameter, bigger than Olight SMini…
SP10 is as Phat as the FWAA (bezels will lego).
The Eagletac D25a is one of the thinnest AA/14500 options.
.
there is talk about Hank doing a 14500 light next…

I’ve also heard that Sofirn has confirmed SC21 Pro is coming with Anduril.
Ryzbor:Isn’t 14500 nowadays a better form factor being slimmer and having the same or more capacity than 16340 and 18650?
Capacity wise, a 14500 and a 16340 are similar, but an 18650 blows them both away.
Yeah, and then: Why not a 21700.
Remember, we (I) started with a 16340
Edit:
Look closely. It takes some time to spot the difference in size, but believe me, it’s there.

Nice, but the SC21 is quite long.
From Mr. Wang I’d expect something smaller and maybe … nicer.

Yes, but…
But the D25A at least has a sw45k :smiling_imp:
(edit: sw35 in the Klarus)

yes, and Hank has access to Titanium manufacturing… Sofirn does not.
I’d even take it in titanium if he finally makes one.

personally i like 16340 lights more with sideswitch and they fit nice in pockets but both are nice of course.

An SC21 Pro with Andruil was mentioned upthread by Lux-Perpetua.
So far, I only know that Sofirn wants to offer SC21 with Andúril 2 and the 1616 chip. I can only guess but most of the specs will probably remain the same. The most important differences: 1616 MCU, i.e. accurately calibrated voltage and thermal sensing Andúril 2 instead of Sofirn's proprietary UI (option to flash different firmware via flashing pads - yet to be verified) configurable ATR adjustable switch button light (if applicable) Personally, I would not mind if Sofirn were to increase…
It should be ready fairly soon:

I agree that 16340 flashlight with nice features will be very useful. My hope is for a very efficient and reliable flashlight I can use for camping or emergency which do not need to be bright but can last for a few nights. I like 18350 but somehow it is quite thick so it may be better to just do 18650 for that thickness.
