In for a new clip!
The current is quite bulky, it really needs a elegant clip
This.
Just putting some straight clip from another flashlight does not suit that body shape.
I like what you did there for that body.
If I had to imagine my âperfect clipâ for this light, I think this would be it! (as long is itâs sturdy enough to hold well)
I would prefer a single bend clip like the one from oweban.
I canât do a fancy computer drawing, but here are my thoughts:
(I also canât figure out how to post a pic in a post )
That makes two of us man. I always end up pasting in the link, but was never able to attach the actual image hereâŚ.
Just a tad longer #notusingnailtoraisetheclip
Thatâs fair. The lip at the end could stick up a little further.
Also, to echo and supplement what others have said, the 2 way clip for the FW series of lights made some sense when used in the 18350 short tube configuration, but couldnât be used that way with the KR4 due to the short tube not supporting a clip. A short tube that does support a clip and and a clip designed for that configuration would be nice to have, though.
What about such a clip?
- Clip is slightly bent to match the design of the KR series
- ânotchâ style end allows finger-free insertion (uhmâŚ) without the tongue sticking out
- Deep! Screwing on the tailcap should not be an issue
This is my preferred clip design.

This. Also my preferred clip design. Second is the FW series deep carry clip design.

I like this clip design on relatively straight bodied lights, but I think itâs going to be hard to get this to look and work well on this light. Adding a subtle curve to the entire clip seems like it would add a lot complexity to the production.
Iâm not fussed with how deep the clip goes, my primary issue would be the inner diameter of the bend on the deep carry clip is too small and tight to easily allow it to go over various pocket materials, like denim or multiple cotton layers like on some track pants.
The difference between the Olight deep carry clip and the FW3A deep carry clip is very apparent. Itâd be a difference of maybe a single millimetre in the overall bend diameter but would allow material to nestle up to the top of the clip a lot easier instead of bunching up just below the folded part of the clip. The FW3Aâs deep carry clip is just too narrow to be very easy to use, it always requires some fiddling to sit properly in pocket
If the opposing bends of each end were wider, the clip would allow material to enter the clip cavity much more easily.

This is near ideal. The slight curve might not be easy to produce but is worth a try. As others have said, the bend radii on the âdeep-carry-portionâ are critical. The first bend should be smooth as to not catch fabric, and the second âUâ bend should be at least ~0.5mm larger than a standard denim jean hem. Measurements Iâve made on a few different garments say 2.5mm internal bend DIA should be about sufficient. No less!
I donât use clips. âIf I can remove it.â
I would ask you to include (Attachments) in the packages a washer (retainer) (packing ring) for those of us who remove the clips.
It could be an option, as an accessory.

The included lanyard clip is almost like a washer.
Agree with the majority, not keen on double bends and a slightly deeper carry would be good.
I generally prefer no clip though. Rey provided us folk with a nice option with his Ti washers
I never use pocket clips. To me it just adds bulk and provides no function. Those Reylight TI rings look nice.

Canât you just take the clip off? I think the spring on the inner tube takes up the slack so you can still tighten it down without the clip or a washer. I could be wrong though.
Will there potentially be a sbt90 led option in the future? Iâll buy this one most likely either way
