ThorFire Official Deals- Save 45% on 500 Lumen TG06S flashlight($9.89), 6th Dec 2018 Updated

Well, it seemed easy enough for Thorfire to post up the TK4A offering here in this thread. Gotta wonder why there is no monitoring by OP here when there are numerous shortcomings being reported here. Perhaps a PM to OP below might help? Been @ 4 days since OP posted this offering.

I got a pouch but really tight fit is an understatement. If I had not read vwpieces post I would have been sure it was the wrong one.

Mine was just delivered. It came with the single screw which caused the LED to be offset (simple fix, but looks bad for QC) and a tight pouch that is too short. The light barely fits in the pouch and it’s too short for the flap to close once I get the flashlight in it. The head was not glued.

Woohoo!

Screw the rest, as long as I can fix it…

Exactly!
If it was glued and I could not fix what I dislike I would be pissed.
Otherwise I am OK with the $15 light.

Depends on what’s wrong with it. Still love the original VG-10, even with the thermal-path issue. A light that’s got a horrible ringy beam, or a horrible UI, any “surprise!!!” that bites ya, you can always return it via Amazon’s a-z dealy.

For 15bux, as long as I could fix it (swap emitters, add AS5, center the LED, whatever), I’m not gonna p&m, but if it’s glued shut and the light’s perma-horrible, there’s certainly a case that can be made for returning it, just as if it had a bad switch, or only glowed at quarter-brightness, etc.

Idiot question: How do you install the lanyard?

Push the lace loop end through a hole in tail.
Open loop and put the fixed plastic through loop, pull tight.

The lanyard will interfere with it’s ability to tail stand.

Mine came today. Mine came with pouch, lanyard and extra orings. The pouch is also quite snug, and there is only one screw holding the damn emitter. Not thrilled with the tint either.

For $15, its nice to have a solid, bright 4xAA light, even if I have to scrounge up a screw.

Discounted that thinking the string is too thick to squeeze into a hole.
Thanks.

If I didn’t know better, You,d think Thorfire sent the bottom of the barrel culls to Amazon. :expressionless:

Again

Mine won’t be here till Thursday. The picture vwpieces posted, and from the rest of the posts. It sounds like they might have been returns/rework.

Mine too won’t be here until Thursday. I ordered 1 for me and 2 for gifts. I thought Thorfire was an A+ company. I love their VG-10S and was hoping for the same quality in these TK4A’s.

Well, I had ordered tk4a last Wed. and it still has not shipped as of today. Lost interest, so I just canceled order.

@ Dusty
Never answered your Q at the top of this page. I actually used the Astrolux reflector from S2, SC lights. They have the threads on the bottom to screw down on the MCPCB. There is plenty of room in the TK4A for that reflector and I figured there wont be many opportunities to use those up. But yes the X6/X7 reflectors are the same height and diameter and will work too. IIRC the X6/7 have an odd spacer hole diameter? Keep that in mind if it is and you kept the spacer too.

There seems to be plenty of threads in the bezel for pretty much variation of reflector heights.

just arrived, missing a screw as well :person_facepalming: , centering is ok, see if I can dig a similar screw up, very ringy beam, greenish tint around hotspot, case material is very thin. have to wait till night time to give it a good workout, but its smaller than I thought it would be. If you compare the lanyard to any other one in existence its obvious they also left out the little threading loop from the end.

Uh-oh. All this back’n’forth is getting me worried.

Mine should be coming Thursday… wondering if I’m going to be tickled or pissed.

Yeah :frowning:

This is the beam profile on my Sf11, from about 3 ft. on my crappy phone. It’s actually a little better defined hotspot. Color from my phone isn’t good, but I am OK with tint. Is this what you consider ringy?

kinda hard to tell from that pic, I will post one later, mine looks like Saturn’s rings. My 6 year old Fenix TK41 is ringy AF, and costs so much more. For $15 bucks cant complain too much, but I wouldn’t wanna pay more for this light.

can someone post a pic of that screw please? I mean a spare one before you install it, I’m not sure I have one that will match.
