TK-70 Clone? Tangsfire?

Tangsfire in Tmart US Warehouse

It's a TK70 clone correct?

I was thinking it might be fun to mod it and push it to 5 amps per led, just to see how well it would do.

Tmart has it in the US warehouse, so I wouldn't have to wait long and they have a" FL9 " 10% coupon as of today, for all flashlights.

So...Whaddyathink?

3 x 26650.. Not NiMh..

Yep, and those new 20 amp 26650s ought to work real well if I could find a driver that would push 5-6 amps per led.

relics mtg2’d one, how about a dry driver from cnqg, direct drive on high, it’ll be getting on for 5a/emitter on xm-l2’s, I have a trj19 with a similar set up and its certainly fun.

What driver for 5A per LED?

and yes! you should!

DRY DD driver from cnqualitygoods.com

go get it justin… i can’t wait to see your build on this

DO IT DO IT DO IT!!!

Do it. Do it for the common good of BLF.

Pushing the TK70 limits is a worthwhile venture.

OL - I get 6A per LED in the Shocker with using an IOS 4.5A driver. Driver goes direct drive in 3S cell/3S LED configuration and that will get just over 5A. Then, I bridge the resistors on the driver and it gives it another bump - 6A on low resistance cells. For 3 26650's, KK ICR's should do real nice. Driver has 3 modes. You probably will have to do the usual resistance tweeks, and the driver is a contact board design, so should easily be adaptable. You could also use the LCK-LED 5A, but again, it's the same driver and will go direct drive in high anyway.

I'm liking this light as a host for this IOS driver setup - head is a little smaller than a Shocker, no AR lens, but cheap. Bout the same weight of a Shocker, bigger tube. All depends on the quality of the reflector - depth, shape, etc. Even if it doesn't throw as well, could be a 4,400 - 5,000 lumens monster. Might be a problem finding an AR lens.

Oh - just realized this light is the LusteFire talked about here: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/17734, though TMARTS' price is a little cheaper and in the US.

Thanks for the info and the link! Since the head is smaller than the Shocker, I will pass. Even a "little smaller" reflector will mean less throw and more spill. I thought it was the same.

THANKS!!! That's neat... I have it playing in the background as I reply!!! NO ONE but James Brown could make it sound like this!!!

That makes the day better already!! Dan.

wow looks nice. Can someone do it?
