I wasn’t sure whether to put this here or in the mods section. But here goes…
I am thinking of modding lights. Just for fun, going to start with a Convoy C8.
But what are some decent quality but affordable tools to use?
I’ll need screwdrivers and a soldering iron/gun/station, tweezers? What do you guys use/suggest for a decent and affordable set up for modding lights?
What you need at least:
- a CNC Lathe
The basics…
- heat transfer paste
- durable tweezers and/or round tip pliers
- temp-regulated soldering iron
- Screwdrivers
- grinding paper
- some LEDs (XM-L2)
- some spacers for XM-L2s and 3535 LEDs (like XP-G)
What quality you need depends on how much you want to do and how many lights you want to mod. You don’t need a 200$ soldering station because you want to change one single LED.
Thanks for that. Helpful info there.
